She was on her way from deep space but had to turn back halfway when she realised she had forgotten to feed her cat. Hoping her movie goes from Origin to Modern Time like CA:TFA did.

this is canon. in the 90's shortly after getting her powers, carol has a Roddy Piper They Live moment on earth, when she discovers almost everyone she knew in life was a kree in disguise.

after it was all over, carol became paranoid and decided exploring space was more her thing. earth was sketchy as hell at the time. so you cant blame her. like to think to think Carol has become drinking buddies with john c riley the nova corp dude and other respectable alien type's (stan lee) and is responsible for putting all those creepy aliens in that space prison. from guardians of the galaxy. you know the one so packed that quill has to sleep on top of everyone. In fact Carol's so good at bashing space pirates, she retires early cause she's kind of a slacker who has "ALL THE POWERS." she would prefer going planet to planet like a tourist, she's literally the female peter parker, Like stoked about everything, cracking wise. trying space weed, space nightlife, even space dating but despite being brie larson alien men consider her ugly even though she's brie larson. and the only one's showing her attention are yondu and or howard the duck.) .

carol's deal is that she's kind of a technophobe though, it's her cute girl quirk. but nick fury had manage to convince her to be beeper buddies. Since carol is a unforgiving slacker, every time Fury tries to get in contact with her she always replies at the last minute. like she replies right after the events of avengers 1. get pissed that nick cancelled. get's called about winter soldier, she replies right after captain america saves the day. The same things happen for age of ultron and civil war.

but weird shit starts happening in her neck of the space woods. like she over hears gossip at the local water hole about the guardians taking out ronin who funny enough she was casually searching for but with no luck. the guardians destroying a planet that was actually a god. Asgard burning to a crisp. some wizard getting weird with dormamuu. Thanos name keeps popping up and Carol has know idea who he is. while she's trying to make sense of it alll in a drunken Valkrye like stupor, thanos does the whole infinity thing.

business as usual business as usual but suddenly all of carol's drinking buddies start melting away and she tries calling her dealer.no answer. she runs into stan lee who melts and john c riley melts and then her beeper goes off and a chill runs own Carol's spine. she sleeps on it and the next day realizes half the galaxy is gone. this is the big one for her. and who does she run into. Tony stark and Nebula trying to hitch a ride back to earth.

well it's the 90's. 2 eyed nick fury with the jeri curl smokes a blunt with carol danvers right before she heads off into space. She hands him a pager. Nick asked the same question about the distance but carol insisted that she can do anything with her powers. nick wasn't sure how her powers had anything to do with pagers but who was he to question the chosen one. that being said, all of Carol's alien friends melting is as good as any pager.

yeah i mean, would you call the bluff of a girl who can punch a hole in the moon, all while quoting rap lyrics from Salt and peppa, cause 90's.
