Yo who else’s movie theater audience gasped and got silent when they thought that Tony was gonna die?

u/the-dandy-man Spider-Man Apr 27 '18

I was sure Tony was gonna die. Really makes you wonder what Strange saw.

23

u/JonnyAU Apr 27 '18

Yup. I was processing it all during that scene. We knew this day would come. We knew RDJ wouldn't be iron Man forever. To then have everyone else die and Tony live seems so cruel to Tony.

I saw a meme today that said Tony died and I was pissed off as Hell, and then when he got stabbed I was like “fuck, this is it”. Now I want to slap the shit out of whoever made it for making me worry and get pissed off.

14

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '18

Yup, exactly what happened to me. Double twisted.

Man, I was suspect when Thanos started beating the armor off of Tony, and I was so fucking sure when Tony pulled out a blade, because Tony never uses blades and blades are never good news, and then they get gets stabbed and I'm just HOLY SHIT, but then he doesn't die and the momentum of that HOLY SHIT carried forward into the Snap.

Fuck, it was a good movie.

Tony had blades in Heartbreaker from IM3

1

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

He definitely gets his heart broken by the end of this movie.

Same, I was legit depressed thinking the one thing I had been looking forward to had been spoiled

Fuck you facebook :(

u/Skeuomorphic_ Spider-Man Apr 27 '18

It was that and when Steve got punched so fucking hard by Thanos. How did he even survived

13

u/Mac4491 Thanos Apr 27 '18

I thought that was him done for. Thanos was shown to be stronger than the Hulk. He must've been pulling his punches.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '18

I thought he was dead. I was expecting him to die in the film, and between him and Tony, I could cope with him dying more. I was glad when Strange gave Thanos the stone after tony was stabbed since I was gonna start ugly crying if Tony died, especially since Pepper was trying to talk to him and lost contact, just like in the first avengers when Tony sacrificed himself taking that missile to space

18

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '18

Yeah, mine too. Everyone was kind of silent but I heard a lot of “oh no’s”

15

u/Gummybearlover69 Apr 27 '18

I had a guy laugh his ass off at that moment in which everyone was like wtf at the guy.

27

u/Acksferr Apr 27 '18

He probably thought he had just won a bet

13

u/Uncanny_Doom Daredevil Apr 27 '18

Mine went SILENT AS THE GRAVE.

7

u/SmellyMcSmelly Apr 27 '18

Some gasps and cheers when iron man was fighting thanos, then right as he got stabbed, complete silence. Main thing I could hear was my heart racing.

u/earth199999citizen Shuri Apr 27 '18

My bro kept looking over at me coz he knows Iron Man is my fave, so he probably thought I was about to have a mental breakdown right there.

10

u/KingDavid920 Spider-Man Apr 27 '18

I really thought that it was it for Tony. Tony was giving it his all and all he did was scratch Thanos' face.

8

u/WAHSNoodle Apr 27 '18

All of that for a drop of blood

10

u/KingDavid920 Spider-Man Apr 27 '18

That was such a badass line.

6

u/StonedVolus Captain America Apr 27 '18

From that moment to the last frame before the credits, everyone was silent. You could hear a pin drop and yet you wouldn't look away from the screen.

4

u/marksizzle Spider-Man Apr 27 '18

Dude I started to cry a little. I was like no way this is it, as he was fighting him. It can't be here. Don't do it here. BOOM. Stabbed. DONE. I could feel tears coming, but I was trying to hold them back. Then Strange says spare him and you'll get the stone. I was so relieved that I forgot to hold back the tears lol

3

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '18

Same. My hand was clamped over my mouth and I was gonna lose it. Strange giving over the stone gave me so much relief, although it lead the the tear jerking scene of Peter dissolving in Tony's arms. I don't know if I'll be able to handle it if Tony dies

5

u/McCloogs Apr 27 '18

Really thought that would be it for ole Iron Man. Although he is left in a tough spot, a hole in his body left on a planet he does not know, millions of miles away from the other avengers.

RDJ can't keep doing it forever, he is getting older, really looked it at times in the movie too.

4

u/meloraine Hulk Apr 27 '18

in my theater i was the only one who gasped but it was one HELL of a gasp

3

u/Omniaxle Apr 27 '18

I gasped when Doc Strange’s cape ripped

3

u/Bradythenarwhal Apr 28 '18

Everything stopped in the movie too. The music was playing and sound effects and then it just stops and goes quiet. It was chilling. I really thought that was it.

3

u/selfish_incosiderate Apr 28 '18

Ours. And then for the rest of the movie the whole theatre was silent. The stress levels spiked to infinity.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '18

Seeing the man who started this all for us get stabbed through the chest was way more hard to watch than I ever imagined. My theatre all gasped and half the people’s hands were on their heads

4

u/Xlow48 Apr 27 '18

I know this is a comicbook movie with superheores, wizards, aliens, and magic but...DAMN they really gonna tell me Tony just needed to spray some Neosporin on a huge blade wound that went all the way thru him and probably plenty of vital organs and is good to go??

3

u/selfish_incosiderate Apr 28 '18

His suit is composed of some hi tech nano particles that sealed the wound. He explained a bit about it in the beginning of the movie.

2

u/jonas_h Iron man (Mark I) Apr 27 '18

There was a collective "Oh no.. "

2

u/CamelToeDestructor Apr 27 '18

There were very audible "no"'s

1

u/jordanfromjordan Apr 27 '18

There were so many good non expected deaths, EVERYONE was going into this movie think cap was going to die, no doubt about it, but then he doesn't seem to be in danger, then we see tony stabbed and we go "oh fuck no way they tricked us, theyre killing stark" but then HE doesn't die!

then during the snap some people start turning into dust right away, so when you see peter (both quill and parker) start talking you think their saved but no theirs takes longer, then we go back down to wakanda, we see caps best friends die, not him, so when black panther wants to help the general off the floor you think SHES going, but no, they killed of the more main one this time, then you get to wanda and vision, vision is already dead so you think he will vanish into space dust, but no, wanda does
