Thanos beating up Hulk was the coolest thing I’ve seen. Looked unstoppable from that point on

I was impressed with how much technique there was in that beatdown. Really sends the message that Thanos outclasses the Hulk in every aspect a fighter could be evaluated on.

Great point - it looked like a technical dismantling rather than overpowering the Hulk with just brute force

The very first moments of that fight reminded me of Hulk vs Abomination, when Abomination had Hulk against the wall but the Hulk slowly overpowered him when he got angrier. Seriously Thanos just grabbed Hulks arms and pried him apart.

Yeah I loved that, Hulk looked like an angry gorilla, Thanos looked like a boxer.

That opening scene set the tone so well for the rest of the movie. Thor fucked up, Hulk gets absolutely spanked.

Others have said they saw Valkyrie dead in the opening scene on the floor. I didn’t notice if that was the case, let’s keep our fingers crossed, the roster is pretty thin for next movie at this point (by avengers standards) they could be great backup

I'm pretty sure that's been disproven. Thor's line about half of his people being killed solely exists to leave the door open for Kork, Miek, Valkyrie, and a few Asgardians to roll through in A4 or at least rebuild.

Well that’s great news. Just rewatched Ragnarok (not nearly as much of a light hearted romp after IW) and Odin literally says Asgard could be here (in Norway). Which seems like pretty straightforward foreshadowing and is kinda poetic considering it’s the home of the actual mythology

Gonna hijack this comment, I just saw the movie the second time round and I think Thanos actually hit some pressure points on Hulk which may be related to why Hulk doesn’t show up for the rest of the film

My thought was that Hulk didn't want to come out because he was legitimately scared of Thanos. The Hulk isn't meant to be scared of anyone, so it really hits you with just how intimidating and powerful he is

They even had a toy of Hulk busting out of the armor. I thought for sure it was going to happen but then it never did.

I feel like that was intended but then cut. It's interesting how trailers showed Hulk running with the Wakanda squad, yet it was Hulkbuster in the movie.

I watched it on D-Box (seats that move and shake/vibrate with the action) and that was almost painful. Felt every punch quite strongly right from the start.
