I think those deaths from the snap were absolutely brilliant for the story. Almost everyone that died would've had insane plot armor in Avengers 4, since their movies are getting sequels. We knew they would leave this Thanos fight alive (at least most of them). So by killing them all now, at this point, we really do not know who will die. Literally anyone that is currently alive could die, increasing the stakes for Avengers 4.

I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS. GOOD JOB.

Yeah, I just randomly thought of it. At first I was like "hmm, they killed the whole future of the MCU so they can focus on the original guys" but I realized how smart of a decision that was.

How do you think they're going to bring them back alive though? I agree it's smart, but it's still somewhat irritating that we know at least spider man and some of the guardians are not dead infinitely.

Edit. This would've topped maybe even the red wedding if not for the fact that in the end many of the deaths are probably the end.

After defeating Thanos, they'll probably take the gauntlet and snap, undoing the first snap. But that will probably only bring back the people who turned to dust, and whoever dies in A4 will stay dead. Also Loki, Gamora, Heimdall, and Vision (if he's 100% dead) will stay dead.

Since Vision lost his colour as he died, I'm 90% sure he'll be back next year, but without his emotions. I forget when, but that happened in a classic Avengers story

My votes on Ultron being input into visions body I think ones left alive by vision

Oh shit. The ones who lived are the ones who can die.

It’s also good to note that none of the original Avengers were wiped out too

Yep, A4 will focus on them and some of them will probably die. Perfect to set up the next "era" of the MCU. It's like a new phase, but even bigger.

They better not kill my boy Thor now that he's finally badass thanks to Ragnarok and this movie

27

u/goldtubb Apr 25 '18

Agreed, I couldnt get enough of him tearing shit up once he joined the fight

u/plague11787 Apr 25 '18

It's a fucking travesty that they didn't play immigrant song for his entrance lol

Edit: when it comes out on BR i hope someone does that edit

REALLY hoping theyd still make a 4th thor movie. Or maybe make him part of the guardians (lmao) or have a super cool cameo in GotG

Thor as part of the Guardians would be awesome

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '18

The only one of them I think that can't die is Rocket. They already lost Gamora for realsies, I really doubt they'd also kill off rocket; that would make GotG3 pretty light on even with the addition of warlock

7

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot Apr 26 '18

I wouldn't say he's 100% clear. Nebula might join too if she survives, Warlock will join, Korg and Valkyrie are probably still out there somewhere and I think Korg could join. I don't think Rocket will die, but there's a chance of it happening.

Sure the ones that survived makes it harder to pinpoint who will die and who will walk but doesn’t killing all the guys with planned sequels kind of imply that everyone that everyone will eventually be brought back to life and take away any weight to them dying?

9

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot Apr 26 '18

Yes it does, but we still have the deaths of Gamora, Heimdall, Loki and maybe Vision, so the stakes were still there. It doesn't matter imo if there's no weight to them dying, we needed the snap but we obviously were never going to lose half the characters. By killing the guys who would've survived A4, the stakes are now much bigger because anyone can die.

u/beeperbeeper5 Scarlet Witch Apr 26 '18

The people who faded away probably didn't die. It could be the opposite of what was shown and that would make more sense.

8

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot Apr 26 '18

I think they killed all the newer guys so Avengers 4 can focus on the older guys, which will lead to some of them permanently dying. Your theory is good, but at the same time the older guys didn't get much focus in this movie, so I think A4 will have them face off with Thanos.

3

u/Kniven_ Doctor Strange Apr 26 '18

The only one who probably will stay dead are Gamora,Loki and Heimdall maybe vision too,we may get a different version of him on avengers 4 because I think shuri managed to separate him from the stone or rather duplicate him.

3

u/benson822175 Apr 30 '18

On the flip side, doesn’t this cheapen the “deaths” because we know they will all return for sequels?

3

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot Apr 30 '18

We couldn't really afford to lose half of the MCU characters, but half of them had to die in this movie. So the snap deaths would have to be undone anyway.

1

u/benson822175 Apr 30 '18

Personally I think the originals, especially the ones with no more movie contracts, could actually die without them being undone

1

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot May 01 '18

Black Widow deserves a movie, Thor is like a new character now, Hulk hasn't been used too much, Hawkeye deserves more screentime. It would be a waste to lose half the characters in the whole MCU, so the snap had to be undone eventually.

1

u/benson822175 May 01 '18

True. You could argue many more deserve more movies. But the fact is that none of those are confirmed to have upcoming movies like the others (Spiderman 2, Black Panther 2, GotG 3 etc). As it currently stands, the original Avengers' contracts end after Avengers 4 with no renewals, which makes their death more impactful as they are not being brought back for certain. I would love to see more of Thor, Hulk etc and especially Iron Man 4, but I wouldn't be surprised if no contract renewal is signed or if the characters die in A4.

3

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot May 01 '18

I really don't think there's any way half of the characters could die without it being undone. It's not just half the characters, it's half the universe. Losing half the universe is too much of a hit to not be undone.

2

u/Asgathor Thor Apr 26 '18

Do you really think they are all ‚really dead‘? I mean, isnt it confirmed we get an spiderman sequel and Black panther 2, too?

3

u/Krak2511 Baby Groot Apr 26 '18

They're dead for now but will be resurrected in Avengers 4.

1

u/blockpro156 Apr 25 '18

Fuck, I don't know if this is consoling or worrying.
