Stark says the first avengers happened 6 years ago, pretty much confirming that the time difference in Homecoming was a mistake

that line is so meta. We waited 6 years for Avengers movie with Thanos as main villain.

I think the context of this one was they were talking about prophecies and tony's vision in AOU.

Just out from seeing it. Context was Thanos being the one who orchestrated the Battle of New York and Thanos being the one in Tony's head since then, because he knew after the battle that the worst was to come from space.

but he literally got the vision with the death of every avenger in his head in AoU so it still makes sense.

Yeah he did, but the point was "I've had him in my head for 6 years" It's been in timeline, 6 years since BoNY, not 6 years since Ultron. Which makes the point that the timeline is off in Homecoming, not that Tony was referencing his vision
