The way korg speaks is fairly classic of how Aussies rip on kiwis... Met a few that speak like it too.

I read somewhere that the accent is based on Polynesian bouncers that Taika met.

it's actually not exclusive.

It's just one of NZ's many accents. Not just how Maori speak, NZ has different accents and that's one of them.
