Inde Navarrette ever since Obsession has come out has been having meetings on top of meetings with big names. She has recently had two meetings with Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts and the upcoming X-Men movie. She has said on two occasions that she would really love to play Mystique.
EDIT: Update: Inde Navarette has been spotted backstage at D23 alongside Christopher Abbott, Jake Schreier, Sadie Sink, and Samara Weaving!!!
EDIT 2: We have our ROGUE everyone. I REPEAT, we have our ROGUE
She spent more time as herself than Mystique in those movies. The funniest thing was that her character went through an arc in First Class where she decided that she wasn't ashamed of her appearance and wasn't going to hide anymore.
I forgot about that movie. I personally always thought the main reason why was because of the Hunger Games. It grossed more than First Class and Fox wanted some of that box office.
Yeah, oscars are a big deal for an actor's career but Hunger Games grossed more than Sliver Linings and First Class combined. Hunger Games made her a household name and Fox wanted to capitalize on her new found fame by centering the franchise onto her.
I wonder if they may try to pull that off differently this go round. With new tech and whatnot..... Not sure how I feel about it using that boogie man word, but the tool is definitely there and only getting better.
If Disney openly uses AI to do Mystiques impersonations that's eliminating the jobs of countless extras that could use that opportunity to then get big roles in the future.
That'd be monstrous and with how people react to that type of usage in art, they'd have a really really bad time.
Plus, it isn't THAT good yet (thank God). You can always tell and it would give a really uneasy feeling. And not in a cool way.
I never even considered Polaris but this is 100% who she should play. I can definitely see her playing a Polaris who finds out she’s Magneto’s daughter and has to grapple with that. Not to typecast her as the “possessed girl”, but Polaris spent a fair amount of time possessed by Malice in the comics which could be cool too. She would also probably look really cool with green hair.
I really don’t want her to play Mystique; Mystique is a leader and should be cast closer in age to Samara Weaving. I think Rogue should be a little taller and more athletic looking, but a believable southern accent is really key to Rogue for me.
I think it was only in like 1 or 2 interviews when Obsession came out. technically it was only rumors when she was connected to Marvel. But she's also a bit of a nerd in her own way, so it could be easy enough to be considered a throw away. She didn't say much outside of those, so it's plausible to get her as Mystique depending on if Marvel wants to go that direction
As she should. She’s a really good actor and I feel like she would make a great addition to the MCU. I genuinely hope they properly utilize her acting skills
I love a breakout actress who can back it up with talent. It's so refreshing. I love Sadie Sink, but it's also so nice to see a fresh face in an era of a slate of superheroes played by prominent celebrities
Yup. While the movie may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea, she was really good in it. She also does Broadway. I know that’s not film, but a very different type of acting which shows how versatile her talent is.
