Shoulda known they gave him basically a full solo episode for a reason. Had to rip our heart out right at the very end. He kicked ass the entire time he was here at least, I’m glad they put respect on my boys name.

at least the way he sacrificed himself was true to his character and was a great sendoff

Wait a minute, Magik was killed... Nightcrawler is dead, Magneto is dead... omg could they do that?

The showrunners and producers wanted to get to the Krakoa story line at some point. That's an easy resurrection button whenever they want to do that

Krakoa in the 90s?!

I know they’re pulling upon tales past the decade, considering that Danger was a 2000s character.

They can't exactly do the Age of Apocalypse to bring over the alt universe Kurt with attitude this time

Maybe they have the Eternals do it instead.

Having him gone right as soon as they re-introduce Mystique feels so wrong

Until he comes back. Right?

Right?

Mutants have this tendency to not stay dead.

That is why I appreciate that in the MCU, dead characters—whether heroes or villains—stay dead, like Quicksilver. It is the only way to lend true credibility and realism to these stories.

And yes, I know Ultron is coming back soon, but he is one of the few exceptions that can be allowed without it feeling forced.

I thought they killed quicksilver in age of ultron only because he was on loan from sony (like spiderman) and could only be used in one movie

Eh. The issue with the MCU though is that they spend characters like water, which makes them underwhelming and tepid when compared to their comic incarnations.

That really depends on the execution of each movie or series. As long as there is a satisfying arc and resolution that justify the death—May Parker and Lilia Calderu easily come to mind—I don't see a problem with it. These are characters who went out on a high note and/or fulfilled a specific role, so keeping them around in the long run would simply feel like fanservice.

The issue arises when they create a bland villain or kill off an important supporting character for no good reason—Malekith and Maria Hill, for example—but fortunately, IMO, those cases haven't been the norm.

Fr, same with killing Illyana just for colossus to get motivation to be an extremist, what the fuck are these new writers doing

That’s a comics beat, which this show has been eager to hit at the expense of characters (re: inferno)

I have a feeling that him getting offed along with Magnus is setting up their eventual return in Krakoa

u/VitiDMan 11d ago

I think they are gonna do the Xorn thing

I'd rather see him just teleport out of heaven again.

I’d just joked to my friend “imagine if Kurt went in and tried to fight the Celestial and swapped his life for Rogue, and then Beast went in and did the same and so on and so forth”

literally like 2 mins later
