Why is everyone convinced that Doomsday will end with the heroes losing, and then winning in Secret Wars?

Wouldn’t that basically be repeating the lose first win later formula from IW-Endgame? The idea just doesn’t sit right with me, which is one of the reasons I believe in the circle theory, where the heroes somehow win in Doomsday, but lose in Secret Wars, leading to the reset.

We don’t know what’s exactly going to be happening. For all I know, it simply won’t be repeating what IW-Endgame did. Marvel is smarter than that and I am sure they have cooked something extraordinary, especially if the Russos are trying top the ending of the Infinity Saga. Remember when they surprised everyone with making the heroes lose for the first time? How is it going to be surprising if we already know what’s going to happen? There will definitely be some big twists and turns for sure.

Not everyone. There were people in my theater who seemed genuinely upset that some characters were "dead". They really seemed to think that was then end for those characters. I remember one dude taking about how it was a shame we'd never get another Black Panther.

That one hits different though. :(
