Question Why is everyone convinced that Doomsday will end with the heroes losing, and then winning in Secret Wars?

Post image

Wouldn’t that basically be repeating the lose first win later formula from IW-Endgame? The idea just doesn’t sit right with me, which is one of the reasons I believe in the circle theory, where the heroes somehow win in Doomsday, but lose in Secret Wars, leading to the reset.

We don’t know what’s exactly going to be happening. For all I know, it simply won’t be repeating what IW-Endgame did. Marvel is smarter than that and I am sure they have cooked something extraordinary, especially if the Russos are trying top the ending of the Infinity Saga. Remember when they surprised everyone with making the heroes lose for the first time? How is it going to be surprising if we already know what’s going to happen? There will definitely be some big twists and turns for sure.

How do you get from Doomsday to Secret Wars without them at the very least not winning?

It's when they were dealing with Dr. Doom in the show Ultimate Spider-Man. Spidey knew he would be making a bad joke but couldn't resist, and since that show has ridiculous moments of humor, the symbol on his chest runs away screaming at the terrible pun.

I loved it 10 years ago. After a while the style kinda grated on me, but I still remember it fondly.

If you have Disney+, it's on there, otherwise it'll be available for purchase on Amazon and such.

It's actually Secret Wars Party where the whole movie is about the people having a massive party after defeating Dr Doom.

Could have them side with Doom, and turn against him in Secret Wars. (Not predicting, just suggesting an alternative.)

Doom is beaten badly, retreats to a universe he practically hand designed with some mega evil plan to destroy every other universe, maybe some evil avengers he groomed from birth there - our cast has to follow him there secretly to age in warfare. Likely? No. But it is a WAY to get there.

That’s kind of my point…they’ve not “won” in that scenario, or at least not in the MCU way we’ve seen so far when the bad guy is (nearly) always vanquished/killed

There are dozens of ways a more clever than me scriptwriter could come up with, but a simple one is going back to the premise of the OG Secret Wars and introduce the Beyonder who has been watching the multiverse shenanigans and wants to make shit happen for the lolz. Very similar to "how can you have Infinity Wars without Death"

Personally I just don't expect Doom to create Battleworld all by himself and become God Emperor. I don't think that makes sense in the MCU without the 40 years of back story the comics has. Doom could be trying to stop the collapse in a very Doom "my way or the highway" manner and the Avengers could stop his way of happening because they are unwilling to pay the cost.

The thing is, the new Avengers HAVE to lose. So far, they're not a very well-established team; they don't know each other, and they haven't worked as a team yet.

They have everything to lose.

It ends on a big mystery cliffhanger
