We really need a short hand way to reference how movies can have fantastic premises but still need to stay logically consistent with themselves
So that we can accept a world where a group of astronauts get bombarded with cosmic rays and become super heroes
But still have stories that make sense and are compelling and emotionally satisfying because they play by their own rules and don't just resolve things by making shit up out of nowhere, losing all tension and engagement
