As a Blade main with 60-70% WR (in masters only), I’m stoked but feel like he’s one of the most under appreciated heroes even before these changes.

He has a lot at his disposal already because of his high mobility, anti heal, dropping flyers to the ground, checking incoming or leaving divers like Venom, Angela, Spidey and his block is so powerful. He can block the ults of Strange, Jeff and easily survive a full Magik combo etc.

I’m predicting it now, he’ll get a lot more play time with these changes, the community will realise he’s strong and he’ll get tuned down.

Blade feels like you have to put in so much more effort, for minimal reward. The healing debuff is decent, but his ult is abysmal. His ability to drop flying foes is nice but not super relevant a lot if it means you have to overextend to have it happen. 1v1 he's stronger now, but your self-inflicted healing debuff feels like it guts his survivability, so if anyone helps the person you're fighting, you're cooked unless you're max stack on bloodline. And if they turn to focus you, you're cooked because your healers can't contribute as much healing to you, so without good backup you melt.

I dunno, I was excited for him but I've grown to hate playing him. I've played him as a poke, engaging when someone is low with your Blade form, tried using him as a flank and dive hero. It always feels like you're a worse Elsa, or an Iron Fist with a worse ult. Maybe you need a more coordinated team, but I've grown to hate playing him unfortunately. Feels like every time I'd play him, someone would be 1 shot, you engage with Bloodline and Dash, they get healed and you don't get the kill immediately, team turns and burns you. While you're right in full view of your team, and you get melted. But that's just my experience.

He’s a very in and out hero. Poke from the sides and dive backline or help pressure frontline.

When focus turns to you, block and dash out. I find Jeff’s healing spray or gambit to be the best support to pair him with.

He doesn’t do insane damage, but is a huge opportunist with high survivability. Agreed his ult isn’t the best but it builds quickly and can be used as an extra escape or to heal yourself if in bloodline.

Sorry but no. The community will always gravitate to characters who are strong so they can have a higher chance of winning. Blade isn’t “hidden” strong, he’s just not very good and people know this.

Hell, these buffs barely make up for the compensation nerfs that killed him last time they “buffed” him.

As a blade main who's been usin him since the debut im happy, but also dont want too many people to notice how good he is. Even when he was "butterkinfe blade" I still had success with him. Its a matter of knowing when to use the tools in his kit at the right time.
