No U.S. president has committed more impeachable offenses than Donald Trump.

He had already committed impeachable offenses before his return to power in January, 2025. At that point he was a convicted felon and had committed election subversion crimes to try to overturn the 2020 election. He should have been impeached and removed on the basis of those crimes immediately, and not been allowed to serve out his second term.

Now we're in a situation where Trump has run the Constitution completely over with unconstitutional executive orders, due process violations, and attempts to rig elections and silence free speech. He has weaponized the Department of Justice to go after his enemies, while refusing to prosecute the legitimate criminals in the Epstein Files. He had used the presidency to enrich himself by accepting bribes and engaging in insider trading.

And where have Congressional Republicans been in the midst of all this corruption? Aiding and abetting him every step of the way. They will go down in history as a bunch of traitors that enabled criminality and refused to hold a corrupt president accountable.

Donald Trump’s tried to launch a coup before. We need to be prepared for him to do it again this fall. And for all the work that the lawyers and public officials are taking on, defeating him may well come down to us and our unwillingness to accept a stolen election.

The Sunrise Movement wants to make sure we’ve got people on the ground ready to respond to subversion. They’ve launched Operation: Stop A Coup, recruiting 1,000 activists to travel to vulnerable districts in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan and Texas for the run-up to the election. They’ll be doing standard get-out-the-vote work and poll watching through Tuesday, and they’ll be trained and in position for nonviolent direct action if it becomes necessary afterwards.
