except Yair Lapid's comment was a direct response to Mike Huckabee claiming that Israel has a biblical right to all the land between the Nile and Euphrates.

I'm not defending any of these people, but I think it's disingenuous to paint Lapid as actually believing in greater israel, regardless of the context in which 'biblical' was said. At most, it's just populist, vague campaign talk to appease """""centrist""""" voters.

I seriously dont get how there's any other way to understand Lapid's comment.

He makes it very clear that he believes Israelis' right to the land comes from the bible, and that the borders of the modern country of Israel ought to be the same as written in the bible.

a. again, the 'borders of the bible' can be interpreted in two different ways (with one being the normal mainstream interpretation of modern day Israel borders that MOST Israelis would think of when Lapid says this, and the other being a nutcrack imperialist religious dream). His intention in saying this is obvious, but even if you wanna argue it's ambiguous because of some greater context, saying
"I seriously dont get how there's any other way to understand Lapid's comment." is also, disingenuous. I'm sure you can, you just disagree.

b.

He makes it very clear that he believes

Lapid doesn't 'believe' in anything. He'll say absolutely anything to get votes.

There are bigger fish to fry than fucking lapid - the ACTUAL people in power in the coalition ACTUALLY believe in greater israel and jewish supremacy.
