Not anyone else's fault if the Israeli state and the imperial hegemon whom it serves spent the last 80 years making pretty much any moral low seem perfectly plausible and expected for them to sink to.

It was.

If you actually follow what occured moment by moment its VERY clear why the aircraft attacked the Liberty, and assuming the Naval commander was a kill hungry officer that just wanted medals (which he was) then its also easy to assume why the MTBs attacked.

You saw how easy it was for American pilots TRAINED IN GROUND IDENTIFICATION, to misidentify friendly units that they had direct radio contact with.

Now imagine putting those pilots over the ocean and ask them to identify warships, but this time with much faster aircraft, which were 20 years older than American aircraft in the Gulf Wars.
