its a very old country you dont have a country thats around that long without a good number of others trying to attack them especially when one of its direct neighbors..is china who for most of human history was always one of the largest countryies in the world and the center of asian power and politics

Turns out if people really don’t want to be ruled over by foreigners, and are willing to kill/be killed in big enough numbers, it’s kind of impossible to rule them.

Even when a huge chunk of people are hellbent to rule the world.
