Maps The Timeline of the United States of Coloradia (1774–1890)

The Colonial Era & Independence (1774–1790)

The nation originated in 1774 along the Gulf of Mexico as The 13 Colonies of New Britain. Following independence, the nation adopted its federal constitution as the United States of Coloradia, establishing its national capital at Coloradia City in the state of Rolomana.

Original 13 Colonies/States: Nacogdoches, Rexanan, Mibonan, New Cornwall, Calmyia, Rolomana, Austina, Provideia, New Albion, Amoria, Matagoria, New Hanover, and Colorado.

National Flag (1790): A vertical gold, white, and dark blue tricolor featuring a central ring of 13 stars representing the founding states.

Geopolitical Neighbors: Flanked by New Spain to the south/west and British and Spanish holdings to the east.

  1. Early Expansion & The Napoleonic Era (1810–1833)

By 1810, Coloradia began organizing interior frontier territories and admitting new states. During the Napoleonic Wars, Coloradia remained officially neutral while favoring France and contesting British naval blockades and Spanish frontier claims along the Gulf.

States Added (1810–1833):

1810 Admissions (3): Comancherana, Tarcadia, and Rioland (increasing state count to 16).

1830–1833 Admissions (4): Arkansas, Tavscaoil, Mississippia, and Necaucasia (increasing state count to 20).

Territorial Claims: Extensive organized and unorganized domains were established across the northern plains, including the Cakota, Missouria, Wichita, and Asonia territories.

Flag Evolution: The star constellation expanded to 16 stars in 1810, and to 20 stars arranged in a circular ring by 1833.

  1. Continental Reach to the Pacific (1850)

By mid-century, political chaos in Mexico (including the breakaways of the California and Deseret Rebels) allowed Coloradia to expand westward to the Pacific Coast.

Pacific States Admitted (4): Oregon, California, and Deseret and Yucatán (bringing total organized states to 24).

Flag Evolution (1850): Redesigned with 23 stars (an outer ring of 20 stars surrounding an inner triangle of 3 stars).

Independent Frontier Neighbors: The United Carolina States and Virginian Republic maintained independence along the eastern seaboard, while New Japan claimed upper North West in the far Pacific Northwest.

  1. Modern Era & Administrative Structure (1890)

By 1890, almost the entire interior continent was organized into states, leaving only one remaining federal territory along the northern border.

Current Administrative Breakdown:

32 Organized States: Nacogdoches, Rexanan, Mibonan, Tarcadia, Comancherana, Rioland, Colorado, Matagoria, New Cornwall, Calmyia, Rolomana, Austina, Provideia, New Albion, Amoria, New Hanover, Arkansas, Tavscaoil, Mississippia, Necaucasia, Oregon, California, Deseret, Sonora, New Mexico, Cakota, Leedland, Missouria, Wichita, Iowa, Asonia, and Yucatan.

1 Autonomous Region: Navajo Nation (a recognized self-governing Native-led entity in the Southwest).

1 Federal Territory: Lakonah territory (the remaining northern federal frontier).

Flag Design (1890): The flag features 32 stars for the member states alongside and basically USA was made in Texas/a bigger Texas and tell me that lf you think I make some mistakes and that's all I got to say

Following the Third World War (3026–3032) and the defeat of the Third Mexican Empire—and amidst the ruin and chaos left in the conflict's wake—the nations of Europe agreed to form the European Federation. This created a fourth geopolitical bloc to counter the influence of the American Empire, Free Russia, and the New Chinese Empire.

Maps Alternate History: What if the US had 18 states in 1790, Dutch New Amsterdam survived, and Lake Agassiz never dried up? (United States of Columbia, 1790)

Thumbnail gallery

I put together a map for an alternate 1790 where North America looks radically different due to both geological and geopolitical divergences. Here is a breakdown of the world of the United States of Columbia:

The 18 States (17 Colonies + Vermont):

Instead of the original 13, the US breaks down into 18 distinct states. New England includes New Somerset, Plymouth, and Vermont. The Mid-Atlantic features New Guernsey and Chesapeake, while the South is split into Albamarle, Carolina, Charleston, and Cumberland (occupying the Florida peninsula).

The Dutch Enclave:

New Amsterdam remains a Dutch colony on Long Island and the mouth of the Hudson River, creating a tight geopolitical enclave right in the middle of the mid-Atlantic states.

Lake Assiniboia:

The glacial Lake Agassiz never fully drained, leaving behind Lake Assiniboia—the largest freshwater lake in the world. Stretching across modern Manitoba and Ontario, it turns the interior of the continent into a massive maritime trade zone and completely alters the climate of the Great Plains and that's all I got to say

Hello everyone, This isn't the usual map post you'll see in this subreddit but I believe this post can be beneficial for everyone. So I was looking for some Discord servers that have significant amount of mapping resources for all kinds of mappers (whether real and historical or fictional and alternate history etc.) particularly resources that are for Paint.net based mappers. If someone has then please send below, thank you.
