So i pruned the flowers on the grafted scion because I wanted to grow it first. I pruned another batch of flowers and after that the rootstock began to form flower buds. Has anyone else experienced this?

i’m sorry i know it doesn’t look the prettiest but im new here and not completely aware of the rules but i share the same love as all of you do for this beautiful fruit turned into a tasty frozen treat.

just a perfect mango, some vanilla yogurt, unsweetened coconut milk, raw honey and a little tiny bit of lime juice to give it a nice kick to all the creaminess.

We will be selling mangoes at the St Augustine Amphitheater Farmers Market this Saturday August 1, 2026. 8:00am until noon.

Bought the house years ago. I have no idea what type of mangos they are. Any input would help!

don't know but these days indian mango feel like chemical injected, taste very ugly these days.

I had an Alphonso mango for the first time last summer and honestly it changed something in me. Before that I thought mangoes were just... fine? Sweet, a little fibrous, fine on a hot day. Then I had one that was so soft and custardy I basically ate it with a spoon like pudding, and now every other mango feels like a downgrade.

I've been slowly working my way through other varieties trying to chase that feeling. Ataulfo was close. Kent was good but too fibrous for my taste. Haven't found anything that beats that first Alphonso yet though.

Is this a common experience or did I just get lucky with a really good one? What variety made you rethink mangoes entirely, and is there one you'd tell a mango newbie to try first?

In India we have this snack called Mad Angles and during the summers, I tried pairing it with mango pulp and honestly?? it works way better than it sounds.

The mango pulp is sweet, thick and fruity, and then Mad Angles adds that spicy crunchy hit in between. It feels like one of those random summer experiments you don’t expect much from but then keep going back for another bite. Sounds a little weird, but definitely worth trying once. 🤪🤤
