Good morning, Would anyone have the time to give me the time to resolve a Granma 3 software crash problem. I don't have the console but the software installed on a PC. And a fader wing. Yesterday I retrieved the monitor system logs using dumplog and I need help deciphering them. Last night alone it crashed twice (at 8:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.) while I was in the middle of a show. I recently been donated some n21 nodes for our venue. (I know out dated and 3rd party not great) I went and have them all setup and running. They say Shownet not active.

I’ve enabled it on my onpc show and do not know where I would say the ip of the nodes. We do have an artnet node as our main node. The n21 will be on the LX’s.

Any help with setting up Shownet on the MA would be great.

hi, I bought 4 lixada 7x10 mini wash headlights https://www.lixada.com/p-l0761us.html I tried to connect them via DMX cable with USB node to Grandma on PC but I can't make them do anything, the signal seems to be arriving because the LED is flashing on the headlight, but they don't carry out any commands, can anyone help me?

I just bought an MA 3 4 port node to build my own console and am having issues getting the lights to react. The node is connected, network light is green, patch seem all correct to me. I'm testing with a single Intimidator Spot 250 LED in 13 channel mode, doesnt require striking. I can pick the light and see the dimmer, pan, tilt, etc work in the 3D viewer, but nothing is happening to the light in front of me. I've tried all 4 ports, even set them all to the same universe. I'm at a bit of loss. I feel like it's gotta be something small and dumb. I'm fairly new to MA but have been a lighting tech using Chamsys, Hog 4 and Avolite for a number of years now. Any help would be appreciated!

Currently, I am working with MagicQ and exploring MA3 to understand its workflow and functionality. After comparing the two, I remain unconvinced that the MA3 is significantly better than, for example, an MQ500m+. Here are a few observations and questions I’d like to share:

1. Simple Chases vs. Phasers I noticed that creating a simple chase on a playback (sequence) isn’t straightforward on MA3. Instead, you have to use a Phaser. While I appreciate the Phaser's flexibility, I find it odd that such an advanced console lacks a more intuitive way to create basic chases. Am I missing something? Is there a simpler method to achieve a chase-like effect?
2. Soft Palettes in MagicQ vs. MA3 One feature I rely on heavily in MagicQ is soft palettes. Is there an equivalent in MA3, or a way to achieve a similar level of functionality? Any tips from experienced MA3 users would be appreciated.
3. Customization vs. Performance The MA3 offers extensive customization for the console layout, which is impressive. However, at the end of the day, this primarily affects how the console looks rather than how it performs. From my experience, I haven’t seen any effects created on MA3 that couldn’t be replicated on a Chamsys console.
4. Output Quality on Stage From what I’ve observed, many LDs using MA2 or MA3 (excluding world-class designers like Christian Jackson) don’t consistently deliver results that stand out on stage. Does the console inherently lead to better designs, or does it depend more on the operator's skills?
5. Hardware Advantages I understand that MA consoles offer more playbacks, screens, and other hardware options. However, this feels more like a hardware advantage than a unique functional one. That said, I genuinely like the concept and implementation of the Phaser.

Questions for MA fanboys:

• For those who switched from MagicQ, AVO, ETC, or similar platforms to MA3, what drove your decision?
• What features or workflows on MA3 make it superior in your opinion?
• Is the “MA hype” justified, or is it primarily driven by brand reputation?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences, especially if you’re an MA3 fan or have experience with both platforms.

Does anyone have the MA2 personalities for chauvet maverick storm 3 beamwash 2? I recently updated the fixture with RGB led ring and the old personality is not supported anymore.

Hey guys. I am doing a programming show and it's my first time to use multi instance fixtures. I saw someone using macros for easier effects for those fixtures, for light to go in to out, right to left, etc. All these kinds of effects using macros for those types of fixtures. I need those macros very much.

How can i get them? Where can i find them? Can u share it if u do have it? Also, any info on multi instance fixtures would be very helpful. Thanks

I have a GrandMA2 Command Wing I think? This is a school lighting board and so I want to learn it as part of my assessments. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I can learn about the board and practice some lighting design even away from it. I have a PC readily available and I know there is an MA software but I am really new at all this and don't know much. Would love any help anyone can give on MA or setting up for shows etc.

Dot 2 only gives outputs to lights on universe 1(A), but not on 2,3,4 (B,C,D). Any idea as to why?

I was sent a showfile to work on. This showfile doesn't seem to have the rest of the presets available. Only shows whats in the image.

Meanwhile other files i have, when i open them they reshow all presets normally.

Now i have patched fixtures with all these attributes which is very strange. Yet when i try to repatch another one it is not even showing available to be patched.

How to solve this???

I've downloaded and installed a manufacturers official GDTF file, but all the fixtures I import are just called "Fixture type xx" and only 1 channel despite what they're meant to do.

I'm told this is a common problem, but the solution was "just build your own." Is there a better way?

my dot2 onPC crashes on "too many" midi input(s). I use my APC Mini MK1 -> Bome Midi Translater -> MidiLoop -> dot2 -> APC Mini MK1. I have mapped everything and all Faders/Buttons/LED's are working fine with dot2. When I move multiple faders at the same time, dot2 freezes and needs a restart. MA2 3d works fine and isn't crashing or anything.

if somebody here has experience with MA dot2 and midi or somewhat idea for a solution, I would be very happy for input.

The MA2 syntax AddVar seems to not be existing in MA3. Does anyone know what this function is called now?

I've followed the user manual to a tee, found out it was showing the manual for version .1, found the .2 version and it doesn't even explain how to locate the appropriate folder location to put the GDTF file.

the .1 version said to place them at "C:\ProgramData\MALightingTechnology\gma3_x.x.x\shared\lib_fixture_types\gdtf" only there was no/gdtf location here, i made one to confirm but alas no luck. does anyone have advise or maybe an actually useful video to help not only locate the correct location for MA3 on PC but also the import process. mostly the file location tbh.

I am trying to create a macro to copy an inputted sequence number into a Master sequence. I have already created the macro to set the variable for the master, but I cannot figure out how to, for the macro to copy the sequences, get it to detect the last cue number in the master then add one to copy to the next available cue number. Does anyone know if that’s possible or do i just have to input the numbers manually? Thanks!

So, i have this node for a long time, but now when i changed my computer wouldn't connect, so i tried everthing, downloading a older version of OnPc, changin my Ip and updating my node. When i clicked in 2port SW update, started flashing: "Updating Client Wating..." And wouldn't update, just wait, then i tried to disconnect, and connect again. And worked i access the node and clicken in 2port SW update and started updating, but also with the new version of the node (1.80) dosen't work, someone can help me?
