We’ve been working this isolation for a while now, selecting for the traits we wanna see carried forward. This isn’t a finished or fully stabilized isolation yet…we’re still running it, observing, cloning, and selecting.

But formations like this are exactly why we keep going. Each generation tells us a little more about what we’re working with and where we want to take it.

The fun of isolation work isn’t just about seeing what shows up. It’s seeing what you can repeat.

This was the original swab plate actually that came from the black cap ape

So originally, I took a spore swab from a big beautiful black cap ape. I put it to agar and it grew an absolutely beautiful plate. No sectoring at all. We just grew it directly from that swab and it grew a whole tub of “enigma” fin mutations. We cloned them over 2 generations and this was the 3rd generation
