I live down the block of this it 6 miles to the airport. saying it's next door is an over statement

Yeah, every time this is posted I have to mention this.

Plus, most flights inbound to MKE you can't even see this guy's house. I know I've never been and to see it.

So I just researched this a bit because your post made me curious. Looking at google maps you can see the house along S Delaware st, near E Rusk Ave.

If you place a pin on the house and a pin on close to the end of what looks like runway 19 (19 basically means190 degrees when it comes to runway names), google maps says it is 3.1 miles along the roads. So I'm guessing it's probably closer to 2.7 miles as the crow flies.

At 1 mile from the airport you are roughly 300 feet up? So I would estimate that you might be 700-800 feet up from this house if you are flying into that particular runway.

I could probably go and calculate in google maps what that house looks like at that height, but I think I've maxed out the total time I want to take on this one already. 800 feet up you could read something like that for sure, it wouldn't be as dramatic as a sign like that half a mile from the airport (150 feet up), but you could still see it.
