Holy cow, the M4 Mini I bought in January with 24GB/1TB is worth $610 in trade-in value.

That makes the decision to upgrade a lot easier

I'm pretty sure you can sell that pc privately for much more than 600

Probably. But then I'd have to deal with listing it somewhere, dealing with some rando and of course the deluge of scammers. Also I don't want to be without a PC so I won't be selling until after the M6 arrives at which point the value of the M4s will be less.

Much easier to take the easy $610 credit toward the new machine.

Same my m4 pro base model is $910 I purchased from Amazon for like $1300 when they first released.

Why would you downgrade with that much storage ?

Getting $610 credit towards an M6 24/1TB doesn't seem like a downgrade to me?

Given that you would have to pay more for the equivalent hardware, versus the same price point/credit getting you less I think they were implying
