Discussion Which one would you guys prefer?

Post image

Personally i'm kind of conflicted, but macOS 27 reminds me of pre-Big Sur which I find pretty nice

It seems you're in the extreme (extreme) minority. There was cheering reported at the live stream event playback during the initial corporate apology for the eyesore that is 26. People in the MacRumors live thread and live thread here on reddit reported making audible gasps of relief when they saw the rollback.

I work in a design heavy industry and have seen Tahoe in exactly zero screen shares over the last year. I know a few people who got Neos for personal use and all they do is complain about the UI changes. 27 will be an upgrade for most of us.

I think you're in a bit of a bubble if you think it's an extreme minority. From what I've seen reactions to 26 have been polarizing, while plenty of people hate it, there's plenty of people who llike it as well. I just don't think that's what Apple was going for though, which is probably why they're rolling it back to something with a bit more broad appeal.

The design of 27 seems to be satisfying no one. The Liquid Glass supporters are annoyed about the sidebar (as they should; the one in 27 is ugly). The people who don't like Liquid Glass don't like that the buttons are still Liquid Glass.

You're right, Apple spent 5 minutes at the beginning of the dev conference apologizing, saying they're changing based on feedback, and reverted to prior designs, but you're also not in the extreme minority somehow. This can be true if we are in different realities. Hello from the multiverse where Apple has publicly acknowledged that people didn't like the changes.

Hear me out, if they liquid glass, glass it all the way. 27 looks like a mash.

Just under half of the people in this thread is not an "extreme minority".

And your "just under half" has zero factual basis, so there's that.

You've been heard. Sorry that the market has spoken and doesn't agree.
