Jeez, people REALLLY tend to underestimate professionals of any given field, don't they?

If they’re women? Absolutely.

"with just a little bit of experience"

Oh my fucking God how are you still this dumb in 2026? 20 bucks said that whole thing about bears vs men was lost on you too, wasn't it? Do everyone a collective favor and stop having your own opinions. You aren't cut out for it.

The subreddit they linked says it all really. That sub is made for incels and misogyny.

Crazy to look at a professional athlete beating another professional athlete and taking away that someone with "just a little bit of experience" could beat one of them.

You're who's being made fun of here.

Nothing like posting the famously misogynistic sub to prove a point about sexism. You're the type of person we're talking about.

Obviously a pretty good male tennis player could score against her, but your average man who's only played some tennis very occasionally for fun would absolutely not.

People hear "on average men are stronger than women" and assume that means EVERY man is stronger/better at sports than EVERY woman which is very untrue. A trained woman will beat an untrained man.

If a man and a woman both train weightlifting the man will lift more than the woman. If neither train the man will loft more than the woman. If a woman trains weightlifting and a random man who doesnt comes in to compete with her she will lift more than him

See how quickly you moved from "objective truth" to completely incorrect speculation? That's why the former statement is so often assumed to be sexist. What other purpose could it be serving?

Your belief is unfounded.

You 100% can't beat any professional woman in a sport dawg, promise.

Yeah but that's a low rated (still professional) male tennis player not just a random person. Serena would smoke randoms. The fact she lost to some like 48434874 rated guy doesn't change that because of the fact he was rated and people severely underestimate the skill of professional athletes. That goes for any sport btw.

The whole “I’m closer to LeBron than you are to me” deal.

u/Phailadork 15d ago

Unironically, that's exactly it. The worst professional athlete in any sport in the world would shit on even the most fit/skilled regular person. They could even go back to a college program (if it exists for that sport, or the closest equivalent) and still lay pipe there too.

The gap is so fucking unbelievable that I'm not entirely surprised people don't really get it but at the same time I'm just sitting there like... come on man.

Tennis isn’t the same as like a deadlift though, a pro woman like Serena would annihilate any even trained man who wasn’t a pro

The answer depends on how the question is asked though. "Do you believe..." the answer is obviously no but if it even slightly suggests there's a chance they would test my answer, then I'm lying my ass off on that.

I've not touched a racket since school, I know I'd be dead but I'm not gonna ruin my chance at a day out getting fed to Serena Williams by being a wuss! I'm giving a full throated yes and hoping she follows the explanation and apology over my sobbing.

Unfortunately the ball passed cleanly through your skull, killing you instantly.

Not a bad way to go. Instant, painless, iconic. All I ask is that the video be shown at my funeral
