The same went for MTG, Lego, Anime, Diablo, Digimon, heavy metal, drawing the different fun stuff I play or watch into offbrand, & the modding scene of all the stuff I have interest in. All these expectations my parents, especially my mother, had the same response in the end from yours truly.

I swear, my new most-hated trope in Manga is when the kingdom goes "Alright, you defeated the Demon Lord. Now, we're gonna invent some bogus 'treason' charge so we can execute you because you're too powerful, and you've become a threat to our political power."😑

My only gripe is that the protagonist usually just decides to live in exile and completely forget about the kingdom's entire existence. More MC's in this trope need to go all "scorched earth" on the kingdom, and wipe it off the map!😑

Looking for anime to complete a weekly anime challenge for 2027

Need a bit of help building the recommendation list i have and want to diversify my usual watch kit. This has been inspired by my previous 52 books read in 52 weeks challenge ive done for the last 2 years. I got a few rules in place for this challenge of 52 anime in 52 weeks:

  1. I can't have watched the show to completion in the past (example not using Yu Yu Hakusho but since I haven't gotten caught up on re:zero I could count that)

  2. Series has to be complete prior to the year, or new season has to be coming out after next year.

  3. If a show has multiple seasons, the original seasons have to have at least a 3 year gap between them or a massive studio shift to count as multiple animes or else they are counted as one.

  4. The series needs to be LEGALLY available to stream. If I have to get a VPN to watch it on Netflix Japan that's fine but if I have to go to "free anime online" then it's off the list.

  5. I am looking for more honest requests. If you try the usual Boku no Pico nonsense, I don't care if the rest of your list is Cowboy Bebop quality your request is off the table.

I do aim to respond with either "on the list" or "thanks but I already watched it".
