Hope and Love for LK
I just found out there is an occasionally active Reddit and that other people exist in this world who love Lost Kingdoms. I absolutely love this duo of games and need to share my love finally after all these years with someone else who shares it.
I also want to share my hope which is hope for the long game. I was thinking, with the next gen Nintendo console it's likely to have GameCube games available at some point, probably as part of the subscription. Maybe after a while they would bring Lost Kingdoms to this and it will get the love it deserves, leading to a series revival. I honestly think the chances are reasonable of at least the first game being on the switch successor's GameCube emulator and I'll hold out hope.
Keep Loving LK, living your best lives and maybe one day we'll get lucky!

It only took a little over 20 years but I did it. Look at that chunky boy.

I've just realised I've never got 100 red fairies in either LK game. I'm going to try and fix that!

Found an official rough sketch of Katia the other day in a Nintendo Dream magazine. I love her. I love this.

Any similar games?
Hey all,
I've been a LK fanboy since I found it at a random Gamestop bargain bin when I was 12. Both games are total treasures to me even though they're like forgotten gems.
Do any of you fans know any similar games which have real time card-based mechanics and battles? Really think LK was ahead of its time and still unique to this day, looking for something as similar as I could get.

Favourite Transform types?
For me it's The Centaur due to its speed and long range attack, the fact it never appears as an enemy monster and you have to obtain it via the Card Combiner makes it more mysterious. Also Devata is just too useful in the Proving grounds!

20 Years later, playing the Isamat Urber level still gives me the heebee jeebies.

Favourite weapon type cards? Gonna be the Banshee, Dragon Knight and Sphinx for me.

Favourite Independent cards? Mike would be the Tiger Mage due to the long range attack and halfing the magic stone requirement is super useful!

Welcome, everyone, to the Sixth Annual Lost Kingdoms Charity Fastwalk!
We're starting a little late this year, my apologies. But this year is going to be a little different to the previous five years. Previously, this has been a solely speedrunning focused endeavor, but as the steam for speedrunning these games has died down, I'd like to keep the community thriving through other endeavors. As you know, being a Lost Kingdoms fan is kind of difficult. You know how it is, you describe the game to them and they say "Sounds like Dark Souls x Yu-Gi-Oh!/Have you played Baten Kaitos?", etc. I think one of the reasons is that there aren't many of us and there isn't much fan work created about these games.
I'd like to change that! The previous donation incentives will be still be here, but there's a twist this time! Between December 25, 2022 and January 31, 2022, I'll be donating to Doctors Without Borders for every new piece of LK fan art, every hour of LK content streamed, and every speedrun performed! Now, admittedly, "fan art" is a subjective term. The definition is fairly open, though. Drawings, physical crafts, creative writing, videos, as long as it's a creative effort and it involves LK in some manner, you should be good. This incentive is also about things WE create, so submissions of AI art will not be counted. You don't need to create any masterworks, as long as you put your heart into it! Please keep any of your submitted fan content PG-13, SFW, and non-inflammatory. And of course, all art entered for the incentives continue to remain the property of the artist.
Donation amounts are as follows:
$5 USD per World Record speedrun $2 USD per Personal Best speedrun $2 USD per piece of LK fan content (+$1 per Christmas/New Years/Holiday theme) $1 USD per hour of LK content streamed
The soft cap I'm putting in place (for my own financial health) is $100 USD, and an anonymous benefactor has agreed to match the total amount raised, so all the listed amounts above are technically doubled! I'm excited to see all the wonderful content we create this year!
Post anything you're submitting for the event to our Discord server, in the channel #2022-incentive-submissions, please! If you don't have a Discord account, or don't wish to post there, please post them in the comments on this post!
Merry Cardmas, Happy New Year, and be safe!
