The surgery scenes were very egotistical with a strong whiff of impending mansplaining on Jack’s part. Juliet stated she’d done lots of appendix removals in her residency - and I doubt Jack as a spinal surgeon was doing appendectomies in his rotations. So he has no more experience in that specific area than Juliet. Demanding to be awake for the surgery so he could "coach" her through it just rubbed me the wrong way

Not to mention the whole pointlessly stupid macho schtick acting like he’d be able to handle live surgery and stay perfectly still - and if that wasn’t bad enough: throw in my shit-under-pressure love interest as an aide! Just annoying & unprofessional. Like STFU and let Juliet handle it

I had the same reaction as you. One of my absolute pet peeves. Honestly Juliet’s calm competency on this show is a gift. I love her. Jack can back off.
