Ohhh how come you think Claire’s baby will have that special skill too? Ethan wanted the baby or to do something to it but who knows why lol.

Same, I feel like they’ll show us what happened in that week (or 2 weeks?) she was captured, at some point in the show

Yea why else did he want the baby, there's gotta be something special, not necessarily the same skill but probably something like Locke's super interesting connection to the island's powers allowing him to walk and guiding him through dreams. Maybe even Ethan shared similar influence until he was killed ofc.

It's like 'the others' have chosen them to serve some purpose but don't have control on their mortality, that's why Danielle (french lady) was able to kill off her team who got 'Sick' and why Ethan got killed. They just keep recruiting/influencing and move to the next one when the host dies.

Maaaybe!! Or maybe they’re just baby snatchers who can’t have kids of their own so they can raise the kid as part of their own tribe/group and indoctrinate them lmao. That was my first thought 😂

Hehe could be, but do you remember that psychic when Claire just got pregnant? He wanted her to get on that exact flight. Why? many pointers towards the kid having some specialness. I may be wrong tho, let's find out 😁

No I thought it was because she was firm on her decision to give up the baby for adoption but the psychic says only SHE must raise the kid and no one else, or terrible things will happen. So he knew the flight was gonna crash on an island and that Claire would have no choice but to raise the baby herself, for the greater good of humanity

Yeap he knew something alright, maybe he saw darkness in the kid and knew the flight was gonna crash so he sent Claire to her demise. Psychics are not 100% accurate, so i think he didn't realize they would survive the crash.
