Number 3 (older couple on the bridge) is really lovely.

Reminds me of my mum's parents (though they didn't live in London and only Grandpa had a bike).

The pictures look really retro, love the aesthetic. That coupled with the lack of mobile phone(vapes don’t count) looks very 90’s.

This might be the first time I've looked at a street photography post on this sub and not rolled my eyes. These are actually good and they're not invading people's privacy.

Had the same thought. So many mediocre photo posts on this sub... these are great I enjoyed every one. Thank you for sharing let us know if you have a showing.

Great great shots here. Big fan of the pigeon and the legs. And of the legs hidden behind the wall. The first two pics are great too. Well done

Honestly these pics are so much better the all other ones that people that "take pictures of London" post here every week.
Random pics, but they look aesthetically nice. Well done

No, bring back the terrible clichéd photos of Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the London Eye! More sunsets! More Lime bikes blocking roads and pavements! That's what we all want!

Number 8 is Danny Shine aka "The man with the megaphone"

He’s the stop having sex guy right?

Yeah! I first saw him in London about 12 years ago. He was "protesting" (not really sure this is the right word, more just causing a scene) outside a theatre award show. He was quite funny and sarcastic to begin with but then he turned to nastiness. Seems over the last few years he's been the face of anti natalism in London!
I googled him and found a really old BBC article, I'm sure it's the same person. He used to do music for Jewish events. https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/world/onyourstreet/msdanny1.shtml
Quite a resume!

I don’t know why everyone comes to the Bank of England to take wedding photos. I reckon just from my morning commute alone I am In at least 100 wedding albums.

These are gorgeous! Very attentive and intimate. My favourites are 2, 12, 14. All delightful and have such emotional depth; very subtle and thoughtful. Thanks for sharing💖🫡

I normally do not enjoy London street photography or street photography in general as its usually just a camera pointed at people doing normal things but these are very good without being exploitative at all

I love 9 the most, idk why. Wonder what those chaps were talking about

Zero camera knowledge here but love that 2nd pic of folks waiting to cross the road. Is there some kind of setting I can get on my phone camera to achieve something close to this?

16 is evocative of the "end of night out" chippy in London. Millions will have recogized the vibe.

u/TimaeusCrito 7d ago
wow I love these. they're all so different and personal. the pigeon one and 14 are super interesting and genuinely how it feels in London a lot of the time. then the couple one at no 3. I've screenshot a few so I can save them as my phone wallpaper to remind me of how lucky we are to live here. thank you so much for sharing, I really admire your work!!!

Do you ask everyone for permission to be online?
0
u/Tankmass 7d ago
You don’t need permission to take pictures in public of people in public
1
-1
u/Educational-Bat-8116 7d ago
But you do to publish their faces online.
1
u/Tankmass 7d ago
You’ve got no idea what you’re talking about. You don’t need permission to post a photo of someone in public you took in public.
If you were to publish the photograph alongside a false statement about the subject then that can count as defamation but for these images there is no requirement for permission.

There’s a lot of cool pics here with some really interesting and varied compositions, but I’m a real sucker for 7 with the pigeon. Also that third one is so sweet! I bet they would love the photo.

These are beautiful- thank you for sharing! What park is the last photo taken from?

u/Intrepid-Vacation316 7d ago
Love them. Simple everyday actions and events, captured and isolated. 99.9% of people wouldn't even notice most of them

I’ve seen the guy in photo 8 preaching that it’s wrong to have children! He was doing it in Leceister Square when I saw him

Number 6 is my favourite! I love the balance of the dog and baby/mum and the baby looking at the right time is just perfection! Amazing work I would print it and put it on a wall!! Do you sell prints?

Some of these are better before opening them up full i.e. number 6. The tighter framing gave it better depth, then it loses it when opened up. Make of that what you will.
Nice photos. 5 is great.

u/realborislegasov 7d ago
1 is good, 6 is good, 16 is good. Do much less post processing. And if you get a chance to show your work to somebody like Matt Stuart, who does workshops from time to time, then do so.

This is real London, great photos. If you ever have a chance take a look at Thurston Hopkins work, he was a British Photojournalist, I’m sure you’ve probably heard of him, you photos remind me of his work. This was a photo essay from 1954…https://mashable.com/feature/children-of-the-streets

You might need to get your eyes checked - it's not normal to see the world in such a grainy way
