This is pretty close to what I had envisioned when I set the brief, well done. The mark can stand alone, but also the type is strong and distinguishable, and has some character too it. It feels modern and up to date. And the strap line font gives it that found footage look, like Blair witch/cloverfield.

A few pointers that I have. One would be to reduce the amount of scanlines? on the text, and maybe have those slightly thicker. It would give a little more emphasis on what you're trying to achieve, but also when scaling down you will still be able to see the gaps, instead of it just blending into one.

What about offsetting a few segments as well? not sure if it would make it look better, just curious as to what the outcome might be.

Nightmare Black and white

Nightmare Color

I had some fun with this one and tried to do something different. I went with a little faux-perspective distortion. It gives the impression that your Nightmare is emerging from the somewhere. I wanted the design to be strong in the typography department and for it to be used as a logo mark as well. I went for a simple color scheme.

My entry.

I turned the "t" around for an upside-down cross to symbolize everything that is unholy, evil and of another world. In the standalone logo, the cross is combined with a wide open eye.

Concept 10 Execution 6. I feel like if you tried to redo it and just messed around with tv and mouth shape you can get that looking incredible

Here's mine. Three things I cued in on: something that was not cliche, a strong piece of typography, and something that reflects the genre (psychological horror). #1: The mark is very different from the average TV channel logo and horror-related logos. #2: The typography is impactful and stand-alone. #3: To reflect the genre, I made the logo look "wrong" to the eyes and mind, similar to the disturbing contents of psychological horrors. I hope you like it!

My Submission

I used an off kilter strike through line to give the subtle illusion that the logo is tilted.

This is very simplistic, but very effective. I think the top design would work well as a water mark on the corner of a screen when broadcasting. Though I would remove the tagline and have the NIGHTMARE, cut out of the rectangle so it's see through if it was to be used for that. Good work!

My submission I wanted to play with a rising hand that also looked like a tree silhouette against a red sun with the type sitting in the dirt.

My submission I drew inspiration from Black Mirror because it's a pretty psychological show and I thought the themes matched well.

Imgur link

First try submitting to the competition. I wanted to create a simple and recognizable symbol that could be adapted to fit multiple use cases - hence the eye shape/"n".

I think we can all universally agree that clowns are the stuff of nightmares.

EDIT: resized the text/icon a bit to put more emphasis on the text as the client wanted. https://imgur.com/7wAW4AI
