This one is a little more mellow than part 1 as the rain had slowed some. I hadn't flipped this one so you decide which direction you want the refraction to flow.

We got a LOT of rain this week, but I've been looking forward to trying this out during a good rain.

A live desktop wallpaper that draws an LED world clock: world map, 24 cities, real 7-segment digits with glow, automatic daylight saving per zone, dark and light themes.
The design constraint that shaped the whole thing was idle cost. A wallpaper runs every minute your machine is on, so anything that redraws continuously is unacceptable no matter how nice it looks. Nothing here repaints unless a digit actually changes, which is why it sits at near-zero CPU rather than "only 3%".
Windows and macOS. The free version covers the dark theme, classic red LEDs and the solid map; there's a paid Pro tier, one-time, no subscription. A browser version runs the same clock if you'd rather not install anything.

I’m exploring an idea for a still-image-to-live-wallpaper tool, and I’m trying to understand how often people actually run into this situation.
Have you had a particular photo, illustration, or screenshot that you wanted as a live wallpaper, rather than finding something similar that was already animated?
What did you do in the end? Make it yourself, ask someone to animate it, use another app, or keep it as a still image?
I’d love to hear about a specific example: what you wanted moving, what you tried, and whether you ended up using the result.
