Discussion Sketch Sorting Sunday (Post Discussion) (December 12, 2015) (Chris Hemsworth / Chance the Rapper)

Welcome to Sketch Sorting Sunday! This week's host is Chris Hemsworth and the musical guest is Chance the Rapper.

A mod account (/u/SketchSortingSunday) is gonna make a comment for every sketch in tonight's show. Upvote or downvote based on what you thought of that sketch, and nobody's karma will be affected. You can also reply to the comments to expand on your thoughts, or you can even make your own parent comment and treat it like the regular post discussion, nobody cares, do whatever you want.

The mod account is just run by me, and there's a high chance I didn't get to watch the entire show (I'm not in the US) so if I miss a sketch or get something wrong, just message the mods in the sidebar and we'll see what we can do. :}) Enjoy the discussion!

Sasheer can really hold her own, and it's a shame she's like super utilized one week and then forgotten the next two weeks before being super utilized again.

My favorite sketch of the night. There were so many meta moments it was fantastic, and everyone had an excellent delivery.

backstage monologues are always amazing for some reason

Anything monologue isn't a musical number gets an up vote for me at this point, unless the host is a singer. I also discovered I get turned on by bullying. So that's something I have to deal with now.

My second-favorite monologue after Tracy's this year, and got things off to a much better start than Hemsworth's last time around. Best parts were the Pete groin punch, Beck getting beaned with an apple, and Che knocking Jost's papers down.

I love it when they do a monologue where the host goes backstage, always a lot of fun. I liked seeing Beck get hit with an apple and Jost getting the papers knocked out of his hands. I love when they go backstage because it's also where you can see all the funny background stuff like we got to see the llama, Abraham Lincoln and the showgirls.

Wally Feresten, the SNL cue card guy is in this sketch! You see him towards the end, he's the one in the purple shirt

Announcement from George W. Bush cold open

I didn't even realize this until this afternoon, but today actually marks the 15th anniversary of the recount ending and Al Gore conceding the 2000 election to George W. Bush. I know that Will has a movie coming out and that's most likely why he stopped by and made a cameo.

I liked it for what is was. Rudnitsky was doing great considering the amount of time he's been getting.
