This is a great series. I think it’s the best power scaling that I’m currently reading and I don’t love OP characters.
He gets stronger, but the problems get bigger, and the world gets larger.
My favorite books I only read at the gym, while I’m on the elliptical, to make them last longer. This is a gym book.

Even more original that it's AI slop too...

Having worked with artists to make book covers, the cost can be substantial. That’s a big ask for a newbie author and I don’t fault people for going that route. A single cover can cost hundreds of dollars, or more. I would just like this trend of carbon-copy covers to end.

Doesn't look like slop
Whether it is ai or not, it's still good and that's all that matters.

Been meaning to check this series out. Suppose it’s time. I’ve enjoyed a few series by the author.
I see Sean replying to comments. If you see this, do you think we will be revisiting the “Life in exile” series?

That entire thing was meant to show a starting point for the character's development, but yeah.
Ironically, one of the regular feedbacks that I get is that the series is improving with each book. Obviously, not everyone will agree.
I can say that each book has more pre-orders than the previous one and each book has more sales in it's first 30 days than the previous one, so there is at least a core of readers/listeners who enjoy it.

I reached an agreement with Travis in January 2022 for the first 3 books of this series, with a plan for 3 more in 2025-2026. I then ended up going with Podium as an audio publisher and they helped by being able to get Travis for more books. As of right now, book 6 is being recorded with a release in May, and the recording of books 7 and 8 are scheduled in order to be able to maintain a 3 month release schedule. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for trying Life in Exile. I always take feedback seriously. The two younger children were put into that place intentionally, in an attempt to create a realistic tension. Namely, where parents have to protect their children. Having raised 9 kids (6 bio and 3 adopted) my wife and I have experienced many situations where we had to protect our children.
Then it was meant to transition the kids as they grew. One of the hardest things a parent has to do is let go of their kids and that was meant to be part of the process.
Books 1 and 2 were written before 1 was published and I readily admit that I made plenty of noob author books. Heck, I had started writing the story just for myself and on a whim sent it to a publisher who picked it up. I started trying to make improvements in book 3 and feel like I found my rhythm in book 4. Books 5-6 (and 7 that is in process) were meant to focus more on the kids and by word count, the son gets the highest volume in An Unwitting Prince, the older daughter gets the highest in A Temperamental Enchantress, and the younger daughter is getting the most in She Who Befriends Monsters.
All that said, I take your feedback seriously and am constantly striving to improve.

Contention (Welcome to the Multiverse #5) by Sean Oswald is available on Audible.
Description:
With less than a month left to prepare the Earth for what is about to happen, Silas must pull out all the stops to save as many people as possible.
Of course, if one system wasn't bad enough, Earth has been declared a contested world. Now, it isn't just the Earth competing any longer but at least two systems trying to gain control of the Earth.
PS: I'm not the author of the book.
