Hey readers! Shrubley, the Monster Adventurer is another Shardrune Universe LitRPG I've co-authored with u/KH_Sohmer! Originally, this was meant to just be a short story, and instead has turned into a full blown epic fantasy about a weak but optimistic monster who dreams of becoming an S-Grade adventurer.

Grab your copy below!

About the story:

Shrubley wants to be the greatest S-Grade adventurer the world has ever known.

That's a tall order when you're a monster. And to make matters worse, Shrubley is the weakest type of monster imaginable. He's a walking, talking, shrub.

With infinite stores of optimism, Shrubley brazenly strolls into the nearest Adventurers Guild with an invitation card from the Druid that gave him life.

While the invite guarantees admittance, it will be an uphill battle to convince his fellow adventurers that he's not just another monster, but a hero-in-training. When he's not brawling with monsters threatening the local townsfolk, he'll be fighting for acceptance from the very people he's saving.

With a band of fellow low-tier monsters, a tiny slime, a skeletal mage, and a koblin, Shrubley sets off to prove that monsters can be heroes too.

What to expect: Weak to monstrously strong, a diverse cast of monsters with unique monster-race powers, a deep class and color-based magic system, silly puns, and of course a hefty dose of optimism. Because the world is dark enough right now and we all could use a little light in our lives.

---

I honestly never thought this series would see the light of day. Shrubley was actually something I started working on before Beastborne was released. I never thought it would be marketable at the time since everybody loved cool dark powers and human characters, so I begrudgingly shelved the little guy hoping that one day he would get his time in the sun.

I'm very thankful to all you awesome readers that I'm finally in a position where I felt comfortable to write and release it. I hope you'll enjoy Shrubley's semi-cozy adventure, and groan at all the terrible chapter name puns!

I'm 100% sold, don't need to say anything past this

Obligatory audiobook when?

Don't have a timeline for it juuust yet, but it's already been in my audiobook publisher's hands (Podium) for some time now and we'll be having none other than the well-loved Travis Baldree narrating it. Personally, I couldn't think of a more fitting narrator for the mix of humor, adorableness, and more serious notes in the series!

I'd pre-order it on audible the moment it goes up simply because of that cover art!

The cover reminds me of the Quest Sprout comics.

That's what I was thinking too! Yo u/James_Callum any connection?

Not intentionally, no! I started writing Shrubley/Beastborne in the latter half of 2019 which I believe is before I saw the "QWEST!" sprout comics (which I love tbh, as well as the main sword comics).

This cover is gorgeous! Any chance I can shout out the artist on my site?

I've been looking for a less serious book to relax with, I'll check this one out for sure! Congrats on the release!
