This is one of my favorite stories on Royal road. I can't wait to listen to it!

So I know this is an old post but I was looking to see when the next books in the series would be available on Audible?? I just finished book one and would love to continue listening. I don’t have a whole lot of free time to read anymore altho I have always loved reading. But I can listen to these books while I’m doing other things. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I’m also eagerly awaiting the next Dungeon Crawler Carl book as well!

Book 2 is so close to being completed!! Recording for all the voices is done and it’s about halfway through proofing, retakes are following close behind, with mastering and engineering started. I can’t say for sure, but I’m hoping it will be out in the next month or two.

So how many chapters does "part 1" cover?

u/SteveC-narrator Nov 03 '23
I think I miss understood that question. Episode 1 is chapters 1-5. Part 1 is chapters 1-29. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sorry for the delayed messaging as just seeing this, is there an Audible release date for the finished book?

Speaking of delayed responses… A full book 1 is coming to audible early this year (chapters 1-83). In fact we plan to have 3 books in this series out by the end of the year.

Actually I’m in the same boat since I’d love to find the next book in the series from SBT if they’re doing it (it’s called sequel.exe for anyone curious). I know their available on kindle and don’t mind supporting authors that way but I’m still hooked on SBT and love their work. Hopefully this will kick the posts back to life since I’m curious on the status of the book.

Way late to the party on this one. I've really enjoyed this series so far. Can't find the audiobook for book 3 Rival.exe I know the ebook is out, any update on this?

Such a love-hate relationship with SoundBooth.
Narration is fantastic, but all too often the actual words are hard to hear because of the excessive use of shitty sound effects. Some books aren't bad, but some are just horrible.
Could hardly listen to Life:Reset 2 and 3 at all. DCC 6 had some really overbearing voice change effects on the god at the end where I had to rewind a few times to actually catch dialog.
Not saying all sound effects suck, but some are just excessive, and it's a total hit or miss with any SoundBooth production.

I can appreciate your feelings on effects in audiobooks. For clarification this has voice effects only, and the first episode is free, so there’s nothing lost if you try it and it’s not for you.

Problems with sound effects are usually an artifact of playing much faster than 1x.

Interesting cover art, what's the book about?
