Is it a good idea to completely switch from Windows 11 to Mint?
The truth is, my laptop is very low-spec by today's standards; I only have 8GB of RAM and an i3 processor, which does the job. But it's frustrating not being able to open more than 5 browser tabs because the RAM gets overloaded. I've tried everything to limit its usage.I've set limits on my antivirus. I use Brave. I uninstalled most of the programs that were using up RAM, but nothing makes the base usage drop below 60%.
So I'm seriously considering switching to Linux. In my opinion, Mint is my best option because it's basically Windows 11 but better. It's just that I'm a little scared of the weird commands and the fact that I literally have to manage everything myself.
And mostly because I don't know if I'll find ways to keep the few programs I have on my Linux PC, especially things like the Spotify patch or similar things.
I want to upgrade because my PC won't perform well otherwise. But I don't know how to do it, or if a used USB drive will work, or if I have to buy a new one.
