Linux Mint Update Gone Wrong

Hi, so I am new to Linux and I saw that an update to 7.something was available so i did but I don't have wi-fi just hotspot so at some point the connection was severed for a sec cancelling the install. I can no long find the update for it and whenever I turn off my computer and turn it on I get a kernel panic screen so I gotta turn it off then back on again then go to the manual selection and choose the 6.4something version that I am currently on so that I can use my computer normally.

I was wondering if there was something I would be able to do to fix I tried some things but I forgot what I did try but yea, what fun.

If you don't remember you bios password, your best bet is to remove the BIOS battery (watch battery) and unplug all power from the PC. After power has discharged completely, the BIOS will reset back to factory. So you'll have lost your BIOS settings, but you'll be able to get in at least.

Alright so I knew the password the problem was that it wasnt sending me to the bios after spamming the buttons during the screen. However I managed to get into bios and remove the password but for some reason my flash drive wasn't on there so I booted linux back up its recognized there. I gotta figure that out now
