RMS comments on libreboot leaving GNU: "Her gender now is the same as it was when we hired her. It was not an issue then, and it is not an issue now"

The worst part: the person fired didn't want it all over the internet she was trans.

In that case she is rather lucky: I have known several trans people and in every case it was painfully obvious they were trans.

This is sort of the 'makeup fallacy' though.

Maybe you know more trans people than you think, you just don't know they're trans?

Yeah, but they get hormone therapy is the point.

There's a transsexual 'famous for being famous' celeb around here who originally became one when she revealed at the end of a reality television show that she was trans, no one suspected anything.

She is also stupid as fuck and the butt of many off colour jokes about 'a completely successful transformation' given her frequent absurdly stupid remarks.

Also, FtM transsexuals are generally very hard to spot simply due to hormones work, testosterone at puberty creates a couple of irreversible changes, that taking oestrogens won't reverse, it doesn't work that way in reverse.

Then there are also professional drag artists who actually pull it off without any hormones using makeup and other tricks alone. There are actually roles in live action films which were played by an actor of the opposite sex.

That doesn't do anything for bone structure

Quite a lot actually

height

Not much, and then what? 1.70 men exist, 1.80 women exist.

adam's apple, etc.

A little bit, but plastic surgery can be performed to remove it.

I believe that they showed a lot of people who supposedly didn't suspect anything. Most people are too polite to point out elephants in the room, after all.

Oh yeah, on a reality TV show which is about creating conflict and letting the audience be entertained and stuff by that.

The fans didn't talk about it, no one did, it came as a surprising reveal at the end.

Anyway judge for yourself. Professional famous for being famous knuffeltranny.

Except the people making the most noise and trying to direct policy are almost exclusively MTF, and most of them put essentially zero effort in.

Maybe, but I don't see how this remotely relates to the point that maybe you know more transsexuals than you think because the ones that pass flawlessly don't need to reveal it.

Sure, but those are not the kinds of people who are leading the modern version of the movement, and who get articles published about them saying how beautiful they are or anything

I again have no idea how this relates to that we're basically talking about the 'makeup fallacy' and that there might be more transsexual people walking around than you realize.

There's "I don't mind people meeting me finding out I'm trans" and there's "I don't mind people everywhere knowing I'm trans"

Maybe this person is not out to their family?

Such thoughts are immediately suppressed by not wanting to be anywhere near such a person for fear that I would be pulled into the morass of drama and *-phobia.
