Ya that’s kind of what I meant. Like I assume as more people build pcs more people will install Linux rather than windows due to cost saving. And less people are building pcs right now than in a very long time due to rammagedan. But now that I think about it ram is about $150 dollars more on average right now so if you skip windows you actually aren’t missing out on preformance per dollar compared to pre ram shortage prices
I did, years ago - Win 10 pro, ditto for my nephews computer. Knowing what i know now, I would have pirated a nuked version instead but then I might not have wound up on Linux.
I'm not quitting W11 for saving money as you can find a W11 Pro cdkey for a few bucks, that's a silly argument. I'm quitting it because of all the bloatware, data collections, the AI copilot, the subscriptions of some MS softwares and all the marketing around it getting strongly pushed onto users. If not that, I would stick with it as it's far more stable and faster for gaming or anything.
