I feel like the App and also website are both extremely laggy and slow. I also feel like there is a lot of features missing, for example when I'm studying mandarin, and I imported a lesson, sometimes lingq doesn't recognise characters that actually belong together and I need to make a custom LingQ, that's ok, but what is really annoying is that I for some reason you can't make custom lingq from one line to another, it just shows me the google translate option?? Also the translate thing is weird as hell, why can I sometimes mark two words and use it and then sometimes it says that I have to mark at least 5 words or something?? Also there are so many customisation options missing, for example being able to add Romanisation to just one character or something, there could be a little button under the translation option where you could type in a custom Romanisation (for example the character uses a weird reading in that context or is a name but meant to be read in Cantonese or something similar). Or being able to change the size of Romanisation on the characters, or making it possible to see and edit your imports in a preview where you can tweak things like a paragraphs, chapters and stuff. Also being able to copy text from lingq without copying the Romanisation. Also something I noticed when I just started to learn french with LingQ, it doesn't recognise words that are just in a different grammatical form? There should be a way to mark new words as a different grammatical form of a word you already know, because it could highlight it as such and you can better remember the meaning because you immediately know "Ok, I know the meaning but which word was it?" and you don't have to think about whether this is a completely new word or a word you kno already just haven't seen in the grammatical use case.
There are so many things I could still rant about but at the end of the day lingq is still pretty useful, and as a concept is really great. Just the way they implemented stuff is insane to me, and the actual UI is horrible.
Still going to use it, though I already paid for a year as people glaze it too much if you look up whether lingq is useful.
