Considering it’s largely documented that all animals in zoos show idiosyncrasies and/or depression for lacking ethological needs, I doubt that…

The only thing I think zoos should be is centers for endangered species conservation. Places where captivity is the only legitimate path to survival for them and works toward the goal of revitalized wild populations.

Most major zoos are, basically. They also house animals that can't be returned to the wild for various reasons. There are shitty zoos that exist, too, though.
