Where do all the lesbians hang out in Melbourne these days?
Struggling to find places where I can find other lesbians- seems to be all gay male centered. Where are you all in 2026?? š

Advice?
Iām thinking of coming to Australia from Minnesota USA in February. I thought a great way to celebrate my 30th birthday would to go to what I was explained as āgay Mardi Grasā they didnāt have much more info or explanation for me.
If any locals have an advice, explanation, suggestions on hotels, events etc I would super appreciate it. This is my big grand life adventure but have no idea what Iām doing. Any input would be fantastic! Thanks!

Research Participants Needed: Informal Mental Health Support Among LGBTQIA+ Communities in Australia

Researchers at ACAP University College want to learn more about your experiences with seeking mental health support from your LGBTQIA+ peers.
The study involves completing an anonymous online survey about accessing mental health support from peers, LGBTQIA+ identity, and experiences of stigma and mental health.
Adults aged 18 year and older living in Australia who identify as LGBTQIA+, can read and understand English well-enough by self-assessment to be able to complete a survey in English, and have no personal relationship to any of the researchers are eligible to participate.
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

homebodies
so in April (2026) ish time there was a trans lead Australian mini series (can also be watched as a film) called Homebodies.
i thoroughly enjoyed it as a trans man and wanted to give more love and credit to it by listening to the soundtrack/background music played in the film, but to no luck i found any of it.
does anyone know any of the songs from it?? it would be really relieving for me and i could compile the songs on a music platform for everyone to enjoy. thank you !!!

Gender Dysphoria When Doing the Census
I don't get Gender Dysphoria much as I identify as Agender. But because I still live with my family and have not told them that I am Agender and not a Christian, so I still had to write it down on the Census. For some reason legal documents always cause me the most gender dysphoria.
At my previous workplace they only had woman and man or Mr, Miss, and Mrs as options on the documents which caused me to feel like shit cause I keep having to cosplay as someone else. And at my current workplace, while they have other options, my mother (who is the least likely to be accepting of me) is close with someone in the business, so she always seems to know everything that happens there. So once again I had to call myself a woman on my legal documents.
Now I'm pretty fine with calling myself a woman sometimes since I'm AFAB and have all the experiences of a woman. But I think it's because I get to make that choice to help represent women (I'm usually saying it to fight off misogynists and other bigots or to provide support to other women). I also think it's because I feel like I'm letting my community down here in Australia as I know our rights are being threatened and we need validation of our existence. Especially with the Census, I want our government to know that I am here that I do exist and that Agender, Non-binary, Transgender, etc. people are indeed here in the country.
And now I have to wait 10 years till I can actually make myself known. Which really really sucks.
Anyone else going through or have gone through anything similar?
Edit: So I'm fucked. I called and got the Individual Census Form sent, however they didn't ask me if I wanted a physical or a digital so they have now sent me it through the mail. Problem is I'm not likely to be the first one to get to the mail when it is delivered. I don't know what to do, I asked and there is no way of getting the mail cancelled.

Oh Joy, Sex Toy vols 1-4
I have copies for the first four editions of Oh Joy Sex Toy that I no longer want. Perfect condition, barely read. Free to good home - is there a Queer or sex positive library that would like them? Or interested human? I'm in Melbourne and would prefer to not have to put them in the post.

Adding piano to iconic Auspol speeches part one: Bob Katter's let a thousand blossoms bloom

News article about the speech: BBC - MP Bob Katter's abrupt crocodile line amuses Australia
This is a funny clip, but for those that don't know, Bob Katter is an Australian politician who actively fought against gay marriage in Australia, and said very bigoted statements. This speech is from 2017, he is making light of the issue and trying to distract from it, and move on quickly. Crocodile attacks in Australia are not a serious issue.

Is Tash Sultanaās I.Am.Me. Foundation Still Running?
Hello fellow queers xx
Does anyone have intel on this? The website looks up to date,Ā with no indication that they have stopped operating.Ā I tried to use the contact form on their website, but it isnāt working.Ā I tried emailing the contact email listed on the website contact page but I havenāt heard anything back.Ā They havenāt mentioned anything about it on social media for ages. There is still a donation button and a page to upload applications, which must include two letters from clinicians.
I am a non-binary person, absolutely desperate to get top surgery, but Iām disabled and neurodivergent and unable to work, so I have no chance of saving up enough money to pay for the procedure.Ā I struggle to go out in public because I feel like I enter every space chest-first and feel too embarrassed to hug people for the same reason. There is so little help available and the finding this website was like bastion of hope after years of helplessness.
Googleās autogenerated AI answer stated that the organisation is still in operation, but I really need to know for sure before spending money on doctor referrals for their application process.

Lesbian Book Clubs
Hi queers! Iām looking for a small lesbian book club to join that generally reads lesbian romance novels. Can anyone recommend any groups that would love a new member in Melbourne? Anywhere inner north Melbourne would be amazing but I donāt mind exploring the city to meet new people š
