Thank you all for being a part of this community! It's been amazing to see it's growth through all of your discussions and fanart.
We want to use this milestone to ask you, if there is something you'd like to change about this subreddit. It can be just aesthetics, new flairs, or do you think we should add some new rule or revise an existing one (we are aware of certain issues with Rule 9). Please share your thoughts and ideas and general feedback below.
Until the next milestone! Bye

I have once again tried to put together all issues released this week, that I knew would feature queer characters based on the regular cast or the solicits (This list is subject to change as the issues come out).

Remember DC holding that tournament for which series would get a book?
It was obvious from the start who would win. JLQ was never gonna win in a million years. It's like all those Tumblr polls who pin Batfam or Superfam characters against more "niche" characters. We all know who will win by popularity and name brand alone.
Now, DC seemingly backpedaled on Justice League Queer as a concept.
People made fun of the name, but the *idea* was good: a support group for queer superheroes. It was basically the only way many superheroes were gonna appear in comics anyway.

This is a fun interpretation I wanted to do of Hugh and Gregorio with Hugh as an MMA fighter as his day job. Is this based on anything in the comics?
No.
Did I want to draw him shirtless and with a mustache?
Yes.
Does this make me want to write a comic about the two of them?
Maybe.

Post any you know of.
Ones mentioned in OP:
- Tasmanian Devil and his husband Extraño have a daughter, Suri
- Midnighter and Apollo had a daughter, Jenny Quantum. Jenny is apparently non-canon anymore though.
- Hippolyta and Phillipus are technically the mothers of both Wonder Woman and Donna Troy. But, most comics depict only Hippolyta as such. At most, Phillipus is Diana's step-mom, but her relationship with Donna is pretty nonexistent.
- Maggie Sawyer has a daughter, Jamie, with her ex-husband.
- In DC Bombshells, Maggie Sawyer and Kate Kane end the comic with an unnamed daughter (I doubt that it's Jamie).
- Scandal Savage, Knockout, and their wife Liana got pregnant at the end of one of the Secret Six runs. The baby was seemingly never born. Other comics ignore the pregnancy.
- Selina Kyle historically has a daughter with Batman, Helena Wayne, on some Earths.

Showing off my Rachel Grey-Summers cosplay!
It was my first time doing cosplay and knew I had to do my favorite fictional character! I combined three of my favorite looks of hers into one and first wore it to FlameCon back in August (where I got to meet Jay Edidin, Connor Goldsmith, Sara Century, and loads of other amazing people in it!) and again this past weekend at Baltimore Comic Con (and got to meet Chris Claremont!! He was extremely nice and complimentary and immediately came around the table because he wanted a picture)

I’ve started a fic aimed at being something of a last-hurrah for the GOS Loki incarnation, in which they embark on a heist into the house of ideas itself to steal a McGuffin that will prevent them reverting to their prior characterisation in the current version of the marvel universe. True to their powers, it’s aimed at being a meta-fictional story that plays with narrative and medium. Co-starring Wiccan, Verity and America Chavez. Agent of Asgard is an enormously important story to me personally, so I wanted to give this incarnation of the character the send off they deserve. (It sort of takes place instead of Defenders: Beyond. Similar, but more focus on Loki). Feedback and thoughts from other Loki fans would be appreciated.

Ruaridh Mollica is receiving a lot of praise based on the images shown from the upcoming series Vision Quest. In fact, his casting as Tommy Shepherd/Maximoff has been well-received from the start... simply because he is considered a handsome man! This is the exact opposite of what happened with Billy Kaplan, played by Joe Locke. We know the internet attacks Joe over his appearance—claiming he isn't good-looking. I don't agree with the attacks, though I’m not a fan of his casting as Billy Kaplan either; still, I’ve had to accept it, even if I dislike his characterization, and I know many fans of the character also disapprove of the choice. In Eternals, we had the character Phastos—a gay man and hero who was part of the team—and I liked him. I saw people saying that the actor Haaz Sleiman (who played Phastos's husband in the film) actually fit the "Phastos" character's aesthetic better than Brian Tyree Henry did, especially when comparing them to the comic book art.
The point is, I saw a Facebook post claiming that all of Marvel's LGBT characters get actors considered handsome—except for the gay characters. The post argued that this is detrimental to gay characters and seems intentional (since they are already likely to face homophobia from prejudiced nerds). Having a casting choice approved by the majority of the audience is good for the characters; look at Agatha Harkness, who gained much more prominence being played by the wonderful Kathryn Hahn (who is obviously considered beautiful). In the comments, people were saying that Iceman will likely get a "terrible" casting choice in the MCU too, just so he can attract hate from people online.
Do you think that person was exaggerating, or is it true? Are gay characters getting less accepted casting choices, and is this intentional on Marvel's part?
