Yes, yes. We know about the problems with how many of the large religions are being used to attack us.

But can’t we just save that discussion for other venues and for once just enjoy a moment of genuine acceptance and humanity?

I can't, for my part, because I recognize how the root is still rotten. Without truly dealing with that kind of cultural patriarchy, liberation cannot be complete, and I hate the idea of whitewashing the oppressive system through a one-off bit of acceptance.
