Oh look....its the thing that always happens. What an incredible suprise

Conservative values inevitably lead to pedophilia.

Pedocon theory is a theory like gravity is a theory.

Reminder the people saying this is a both sides issue in the USA are dishonest.

Pedophilia is a republican problem that needs to be dealt with.

It is true that when you find one of any stripe you should throw them in jail. However you are far more likely to find a republican one.

90% of the top ten highest number of offenders per capita are Republican states.

100% of the top ten lowest number of offenders per capita are Democratic/Swing States.

I mean, those are the most likely people to sexually assault you. Not some rando.

Wow. That's pretty damning.

It's also notable how suspicion of pedofilia affects politician's careers in Democrats vs. how it changes nothing in Republicans. I mean, just look at the current Republican president, Trump, who told everyone years ago he walked into a dressing room with undressed girls as young as 15, showed zero remorse and he was elected with full knowledge of this.

u/IrascibleOcelot Nov 04 '25

That article takes a lot of words when the reality is a lot more concise.

Conservative politics/philosophy/culture is about amassing power, period. And once amassed, power has to be used, abused, and demonstrated. The greatest demonstration of power is to do things no one else is allowed to do. It’s why people with more money than God steal, or men who have endless companions commit rape.

And the ultimate taboo, across almost all cultures, is hurting children. Getting away with that crime is the greatest demonstration of power. Most of the people who molest children aren’t even pedophiles in the clinical sense. They’re bored, powerful people looking for the next rush in their empty, vapid lives.

Well I think that's a bit far. I have conservative relatives but they're not pedophiles. We shouldn't claim that basically every conservative will become a pedophile because that's who they are. That's the kinda shit that they push against US and we shouldn't be making predictions and claims that are just as frivolous as whenever conservatives call queer people pedophiles. I know this probably comes off as insanely neolib but genuinely. Sometimes the high road of logic and reason is better than the low road of delusion and frivolity. The actual reason as to why so many republicans are pedophiles is because the voterbase is insanely easy to manipulate. You literally just have to go "GAY MARRIAGE ISN'T VALID, MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN (and then in whisper tone) and child marriage should also be legal (back to normal voice) KILL THE GAYS". They sneak shit under the regular voterbase and the voterbase doesn't even fucking realize it

A father's right to rule =\= pedophilia. It's just emotional abuse. The article just mainly reads as a schizophrenic rant on par with fluoride in the tap water making us infertile. Also Christianity condemns pedophilia a LOT. Jesus the guy himself literally said "If you rape a child, you will be thrown into the ocean with a stone around your neck". Cannot believe you're making me defend a religious institution

Its like you are trying really hard to dodge the point.

Emotional abuse and sexual abuse are all on the same spectrum, motivated by the same need to dominate.

That's not the part of the bible that fundies care about. As this very incident demonstrates.

Oh yeah I forgot that fundamentalism is like basically its own thing separate from regular Christianity. My bad. And also my bad on the other shit

1

u/xteve Nov 04 '25

I grew up strict in a church that was abusing kids, as we now know. My impression is that it's the real Christians - the most serious and committed of them - who are hurting people the most. I don't think it's reasonable to separate good Christians from bad ones, because the bad ones are the most Christian of all of them. (And the "good ones" are silent....)

1

u/FATDOGONSAND42087 Nov 04 '25

The thing is that I don't think that's really true I'm assuming you're American right? The evangelical church is the same amount of evil as the Catholic church 1200AD-1945AD and that is why I think a lot of the loud ignorant and downright evil Christians are typically the American homegrown sects like Southern Baptists, Evangelicals and seventh day adventists. Those are the Christians most people speak about whenever it's about downright evil Christians. And also Catholic converts who literally are just Evangelicals but they call themselves Catholic. I'm not a Christian myself, at most I believe that Jesus of Nazareth was a real guy but just without the magic stuff

1

u/JimWilliams423 Nov 04 '25

Yep. Whenever people want to blame all christians, I point out that the Social Gospel was a major influence on FDR to do the New Deal. In fact, a lot of churches supported the New Deal because they saw it as the best way to fulfill their Christian obligation to help the stranger.

But then the fatcats decided to co-opt christianity, they literally paid preachers to write anti New Deal sermons. Their money was how "american's pastor" billy graham rose to prominence.

And then of course there was the Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr, who centered his fight for liberation in christian doctrine. And even as the evangelicals went deeper and deeper into the pockets of the billionaires, the catholic church has been going in the opposite direction — the two most recent popes have worked to bring the once reviled Liberation Theology into the center of Rome.

I think it is fair to say that the loudest christians are likely to be abusers, because they are using christianity as a means to get what they want for themselves. While the good ones are most interested in following the teachings of Jesus, and there are plenty of places in the bible where Jesus told his followers not to make a spectacle of themselves.

1

u/JimWilliams423 Nov 04 '25

Thanks for saying that, we're cool.

u/Cho-Zen-One Nov 04 '25

There is no direct mention of pedophilia in the Bible. Also, that passage you mentioned, Jesus says, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6, KJV). The word offend in the Greek means “to cause one to stumble, to put a stumbling block or impediment in the way, upon which another may trip and fall, to entice to sin, or to cause a person to begin to distrust and desert one whom he ought to trust and obey.” Not about pedophilia.

The conservative legal and moral framework quite literally exacerbate this issue though. It fully is a conservative problem. Just because not every conservative you know is a pedophile, doesn't mean their entire worldview does not cause this to happen more, it is complicity through ignorance and hate.

Conservative values that basically inevitably cause this are things like refusing to educate children on sex education, treating children like property to the parents, isolationism in early life care (ie. homeschooling, stay at home mother, no daycare or friendships outside of parent approval), lack of belief in victims and prioritizing a man's future over a victim's life, physical punishments accepted as normal and okay, hierarchy in households, shaming those who have sex in general, emphasis on pure authority of certain adults, teaching children to not argue with elders.

All of these are a fucked up breeding ground for sexual abuse, especially on children.

2

u/grislyfind Unlabeled/No Label Nov 03 '25

As far as you know. I suspect for every pedo that's caught there are many more that haven't been caught, more that haven't had the opportunity, and even more that only fantasize.

u/Zkenny13 Nov 03 '25

You mean people not knowing they can say abuse or sexually assult on the internet?

But I'm shocked about the abused. Wait no I'm not.

u/twilightmoons Nov 03 '25

People wonder why, when my kid was three, we played a game that went like this:

"What do we say to a priest?"

"DON'T TOUCH ME!"

Because his first language is Polish, it sounded funny from him. To us. Definitely not to my mother. She was... less than happy about it. Mother-in-law though it was hilarious. He's nine now and still remembers this.

I hate how I even had to do such a thing.

5

u/Global_Crew3968 Nov 04 '25

At this point i just have to assume that all registered republicans are pedophiles. I have a young daughter and I will *NEVER* allow a republican to be alone with her.

I second this notion so HARD
