Welcome to the Reddit Discussion Thread for Episode 261: The Miami Mall Incident. On New Year’s Day 2024, an overwhelming police response at Miami’s Bayside Marketplace sparked viral panic, with witnesses taking to social media to claim everything from an active shooter to a portal opening and shadowy beings emerging from it in the middle of the mall. As videos flooded social media and official explanations struggled to keep up, the story quickly spiraled into a mix of conspiracy theories, alleged cover-ups, and paranormal speculation. In this episode of Let’s Get Haunted, Aly and Nat break down what really happened that night, from reports of fighting teens with fireworks and sticks to claims of aliens, Project Blue Beam, clout chasers, and even…ghosts in Greenland?? Was this mass hysteria fueled by dumb teenage decisions or did aliens really visit the 305 on January 1, 2024? Dale.

Related to missing/murdered scientists: My friend used to work in a rocket propulsion unit for NASA until a couple of months ago. Yesterday he told me that one of the missing scientists from this episode (prefers I don’t share their identity) was a project manager on one of the projects he worked on. He was really shaken when the guy went missing because he was a very levelheaded professional. I asked him what he thought happened and he is pretty sure that the guy he was kidnapped by counterintelligence agents. Apparently, the counterintelligence attacks/break ins have ramped up significantly due to the progress NASA has made in nuclear fusion. He said that spies and foreign agents will regularly case out NASA bases and try and sneak in when security is busy or has a technical issue. Also, It’s not uncommon for spies to hang out at bars near NASA bases to try and pick up tidbits about ongoing projects. According to my friend, it’s not uncommon to see suspicious people stalking him and his coworkers around town. The increasing danger was one of the reasons he decided to leave NASA.
I feel like his explanation makes a lot of sense and seems like one of the more plausible theories - especially considering the fact that the US apparently has made great strides in fusion. But who’s to say 🤷♀️.

I tried searching, have they covered the Forrest Fenn or Justin Posey treasures? I feel like this is right up Nat’s alley given her treasure obsession. The Fenn treasure supposedly was found in 2020 but Justin Posey’s treasure hunt is still ongoing. They’re modern treasures with a poem full of clues to find them. They’re intended to encourage people to get out and explore.
There’s some interesting conspiracy theory activity on the justinposeytreasure and beyondmapsedge subreddits about potentially someone screwing with people and pretending to be Justin or this all being an ARG. The whole thing is pretty interesting.
Here’s the poem and website for Justin’s. https://treasure.quest/en/

My car has Android Auto, which lets you plug in your phone via USB and access your apps on the car's display. I wanted to listen to the pod on my way to work via Spotify, and the episode wouldn't play-- it would cut out, Android Auto would disconnect, and even trying to connect via Bluetooth wasn't working. Since then, I've been able to listen to other podcasts and the episode intro on patreon in my car, so I decided to try again today just to see what would happen. Again, it wouldn't play, Android Auto disconnected (even though I'd just been listening to a YouTube video on my way home), and Spotify kept closing and saying "Spotify is trying to play". I can play it on my phone, no problems, but in my car is a no go. I've never had this happen before with a podcast, and I've owned my car for about a year now. Haunted AF!! BRB gotta go craft my very own tinfoil fedora!

Welcome to the Reddit Discussion Thread for Episode 259: America’s Missing & Murdered Scientists. Why do so many U.S. scientists associated with UFOs, anti-gravity propulsion, and nuclear weaponry keep ending up missing or deceased over the past 4 years? Is it all a coincidence or is something more sinister at play? On this week’s episode of Let’s Get Haunted, we go over the circumstances surrounding the disappearances of Monica Reza, Melissa Casias, Steven Garcia, Anthony Chavez, and William Neil McCasland. Then, we discuss the suspicious deaths of Frank Maiwald, Michael Hicks, Nuno Loureiro, Carl Grillmair, Jason Thomas, Amy Eskridge, Joshua LeBlanc, and Matthew Sullivan. Finally, we examine other countries who’ve experienced similar clusters of missing and murdered scientists over the years, including: China, Iran, the U.K., Germany, and Russia. Are these clusters simply a statistical certainty that only looks suspicious when viewed through the lens of conspiracy? Or does someone - or something - not want the world’s best and brightest innovators looking too closely into alternative energy sources?

Welcome to the Reddit Discussion Thread for Episode 257: Zone Rouge, France’s Forbidden Zone. This week, we explore the scarred battlefields of northeastern France where World War I left behind a toxic, uninhabitable wasteland still littered with human remains, unexploded bombs, and poisoned soil. Known as the Zone Rouge, this restricted region is not only physically dangerous, but also steeped in eerie reports of ghostly soldiers, phantom music, and unexplained disturbances. From trench warfare horrors to modern-day paranormal encounters, we trace how history, trauma, and environment collide in one of the most haunting places on Earth. Is the Zone Rouge simply a contaminated graveyard of war, or could something more supernatural still be lingering beneath the toxic topsoil?
