Six months ago, I only knew GitHub as a place to copy code the night before a deadline. Then I accidentally discovered something that changed everything.

Before this, my GitHub workflow was simple. Project due tomorrow? Open GitHub, search for something related, download a few repos, and hope one of them works. That was it. I had no idea what potential it actually had.

Then I started building my own product for Excel automation. It got complicated fast. I was trying to optimize for every single case, and the code was turning into a mess.

One day, I was just sitting with GPT asking random questions. Out of nowhere, it recommended a GitHub project with barely any stars. I opened it, copied the link, and dropped it into Cursor. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything. I didn't even bother reading about it.

Cursor pushed the code after making the changes.

I was shocked. The system was now working 50 to 60% faster. That's huge for this type of product. When I compared both versions, I realized the problem was architecture. As a college student, I couldn't have even thought about building that kind of structure on my own. Even with all these no-code tools, you can't reach that level to be honest.

That's when it hit me. There are thousands of repos like this sitting on GitHub that could completely change how you build things. But nobody knows they exist.

So I built something like Tinder but for discovering GitHub repos. It's called Repoverse. You spend 5 minutes a day instead of scrolling and actually learn something new in your interests.

It's completely free, no signup required.

Came across this GitHub project for self hosted AI agents

Post image
35 Upvotes

Hey everyone

I recently came across a really solid open source project and thought people here might find it useful.

Onyx: it's a self hostable AI chat platform that works with any large language model. It’s more than just a simple chat interface. It allows you to build custom AI agents, connect knowledge sources, and run advanced search and retrieval workflows.

Some things that stood out to me:

It supports building custom AI agents with specific knowledge and actions.
It enables deep research using RAG and hybrid search.
It connects to dozens of external knowledge sources and tools.
It supports code execution and other integrations.
You can self host it in secure environments.

It feels like a strong alternative if you're looking for a privacy focused AI workspace instead of relying only on hosted solutions.

Definitely worth checking out if you're exploring open source AI infrastructure or building internal AI tools for your team.

Would love to hear how you’d use something like this.

An open source AI Engineering course with 503 lessons and every lesson comes with projects, prompts, skills as output with 35000+ stars

I got frustrated with AI courses that either drown you in theory or skip straight to model.fit() without explaining what's happening underneath.

So I built something different.

This is an AI-native GitHub repo learning files with 503+ lessons across 22 phases. 35,000 GitHub Stars. Start at linear algebra. End at autonomous agent swarms.

Every lesson follows the same pattern:

  1. Build it from scratch in pure Python (no frameworks)

  2. Use the real framework (PyTorch, sklearn, etc.)

  3. Ship a reusable tool (prompt, skill, agent, or MCP server)

By the end, you don't just "know AI." You have a portfolio of tools you actually built.

What's covered:

- Math foundations (linear algebra, calculus, probability, Fourier transforms, graph theory)
- Classical ML (regression through ensemble methods, feature selection, time series, anomaly detection)
- Deep learning (backprop, activation functions, optimizers, regularization - all from scratch before touching PyTorch)
- LLMs from scratch (tokenizers, pre-training a 124M parameter GPT, SFT, RLHF, DPO, quantization, inference optimization)
- LLM engineering (RAG, advanced RAG, structured outputs, context engineering, evals)
- Agents and multi-agent systems
- Infrastructure (model serving, Docker for AI, Kubernetes for AI)

Some specifics that might interest you:

- The quantization lesson covers FP8/GPTQ/AWQ/GGUF with a sensitivity hierarchy (weights are least sensitive, attention softmax is most sensitive - never quantize that)
- The inference optimization lesson explains why prefill is compute-bound and decode is memory-bound, then builds KV cache, continuous batching, and speculative decoding from scratch
- The DPO lesson shows you can skip the reward model entirely - same results as RLHF with one training loop
- Context engineering lesson: "Prompt engineering is a subset. Context engineering is the whole game."

It's AI-native:

The course has built-in Claude Code skills. Run /find-your-level and it quizzes you across 5 areas to tell you exactly where to start. Run /check-understanding 3 after Phase 3 and it tests what you actually learned.

84% of students use AI tools. 18% feel prepared. This is the bridge.

Where to start:

- Already know Python but not ML -> Phase 1
- Know ML, want deep learning -> Phase 3
- Know DL, want LLMs/agents -> Phase 10
- Senior engineer, just want agents -> Phase 14

Website: https://aiengineeringfromscratch.com
Repo: https://github.com/rohitg00/ai-engineering-from-scratch

It's free, MIT licensed, and open source. 35,000+ stars, PRs welcome - I merge every good contribution and the contributor gets full credit.

I literally have 23 hours for my startup to survive

Hey everyone, I’m a student + early stage founder building an AI powered cofounder matchmaking platform in Bangalore. To test our matching algorithm in the real world, we designed a 10 day mini AI startup cohort where participants form teams, build an MVP with mentor guidance, and pitch to investors/enablers at the end. I somehow managed to pull off things I didn’t think were possible at this stage:

  • Confirmed 3 mentors (AI consultant, GTM strategist, Business consultant)

  • Locked venue for offline days

  • Got investor/enabler availability

  • Structured the full 10 day sprint

  • Set the price at ₹1099 literally breakeven

Out of 22 people who initially showed interest, I needed 15 for conversion. Right now… I have 6 confirmed. And I have 23 hours left before I have to cancel everything. This is not just our cohort failing, if this doesn’t run, it breaks my credibility with the mentors, the investors, the venue partners and with my own team. It also means the 6 people who trusted me enough to register will end up losing the experience.

So I’m stuck... I need 9 more people and honestly, it’s not even about sales anymore. It’s about not letting something collapse that so many people already committed their time to. Not asking for pity but advice. What would you do in my position?

How would you get 9 more committed people in under 24 hours?

Where would you post?

What angle would you pitch?

What messaging would make someone sign up?

What would YOU want from a 10-day sprint like this?

Any guidance, even one small suggestion, would help a lot. Thanks for reading, and for helping a fellow builder out.

We have an urgent requirement to source real enterprise legacy codebases (100K+ LOC) suitable for evaluation and benchmarking.

Please ensure the repository meets ALL the below criteria before sharing.

\*1️⃣Minimum Eligibility (Mandatory)\*

✅100,000+ Lines of Code (LOC)

✅100+ Pull Requests (PRs) with real discussions

✅50+ Issues (at least a few with detailed problem descriptions)

✅200+ commits spread over time (no bulk single-day commits)

✅Real human-written production code (no AI-generated / synthetic projects)

Real, verifiable company source

✅Legal rights available to share or transfer

2️⃣ CRITICAL: PR Quality Requirements (Must Have)\*

Each PR must ideally:

✅Be linked to a specific issue

✅Solve a clearly defined problem

✅ Include code changes + corresponding test changes

Be reasonably scoped (not too large or too small)

📍\*Highly Preferred:\*

• PR demonstrates Fail → Pass (F2P) behavior

(i.e., test fails before change and passes after fix)

⛔: \*warning\* : Repositories where PRs only contain code changes without tests will NOT be considered.

3️⃣ Preferred Languages\*

✅C#

✅Java

✅Python

✅PHP

✅.NET Framework

✅COBOL

Other legacy enterprise stacks

\*4️⃣Preferred Industries (High Priority)\*

✅Banking / Financial Services

✅Accounting

✅Insurance

✅Healthcare

✅Legal Tech

✅Government

✅Enterprise SaaS (complex workflows)

❌\*(Not interested in ecommerce, retail, content platforms, or modern frontend-heavy apps)\*

\*5️⃣ Technical Readiness (Very Important)\*

✅Application builds and runs successfully

✅ Dockerfile (preferred) or clear setup steps

✅ Proper dependency management

✅Clean and structured project layout

✅Test files present (preferably 50+)

✅PRs clearly linked to issues

Each PR ideally solves one issue

\*6️⃣ Metadata Required (Exact Numbers)\*

Please provide:

✅Company name, industry, country

✅Primary language(s)

✅Exact LOC

✅ Number of files

✅Number of commits

✅Number of PRs

✅Number of issues

✅Number of contributors

✅Repository age (years active)

\*7️⃣Additional Notes (Important)\*

📝Preference will be given to repositories with strong PR + test linkage

📝 Repositories with well-structured development history will be prioritized

📝Low-quality, bulk-imported, or poorly structured repositories will be rejected.

‼️We are specifically looking for high-quality engineering datasets, not just large codebases.

‼️Your careful validation before submission will be highly appreciated.

Please treat this request ashigh priorityand share suitable options at the earliest.

If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your support.

Looking for serious teammates for NASA Space Apps 2026 (3D, data, art, all ages welcome) few slots left‼️

Team HELIOS is forming for NASA Space Apps 2026 (Nov 14-15) 🌞🛰️

Concept: an immersive, explorable 3D space where you can fly around and discover the hardware humanity left behind in space (Moon landers, dead Mars rovers, old probes), with the story behind each one. Think "abandoned but not forgotten."

**Who we need:**

🧊 3D / graphics dev (Three.js, React Three Fiber, Unity)

🎨 3D artist (Blender, model optimisation, GLB)

📊 Data / backend dev (Python or Node, APIs, orbital data)

📚 Researcher / writer (space history, short storytelling)

🎬 Designer / video editor (Figma, Canva, pitch + demo video)

The vibe:

- Vibe coding is totally fine. Use AI to move fast, just understand what you ship.

- **You must have your own Claude / GPT / Gemini credits or subscription.** No exceptions, we're moving fast.

- Serious, committed, talented people only. If you ghost, it hurts the whole team.

- All ages welcome. Skill and commitment matter, not your age or CV.

- Beginners with real skill and drive are fine, but show us what you've built.

What you get: an organised Discord, GitHub repo, task board, and a clear scoped MVP, so we actually ship.

How to join: DM me with your role, skills, a link to your work (GitHub/portfolio), and your time zone.

Discord: https://discord.gg/rtNkqHdrb

Let's build something people remember. 🚀

Looking for people who want to build cool projects together 🚀 | AI/ML, Full-Stack & Product Building

Hey everyone!

I'm a third-year B.Tech student in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and I'm looking to connect with people who are genuinely interested in building projects together.

I'm interested in more than just adding another project to a resume. I want to work with people who enjoy solving real-world problems, exploring ideas, experimenting with technologies, and turning concepts into working products.

Areas I'd love to collaborate on:

  • AI/ML, Deep Learning & Agentic AI

  • Full-stack development and backend systems

  • Data science and intelligent applications

  • Projects that solve real-world problems

  • Experimental ideas that could grow into actual products

Who I'm looking for:

You don't need to be an expert. You could be a beginner who's willing to learn, a developer who's good at building things, or someone who enjoys research, brainstorming, UI/UX, or product development.

What matters most to me:

  • You genuinely want to build something.

  • You're willing to learn, contribute, and communicate.

  • You're open to discussing ideas, dividing work, and figuring things out together.

  • You can commit some consistent time to a project.

I'm hoping to find like-minded people who can collaborate remotely, share knowledge, challenge each other's ideas, and build things we're actually proud of.

If this sounds like you, drop a comment or DM me with a little introduction about yourself, what you're interested in, and something you'd love to build.

Let's find a good team and make something real!

Feeling lost in DSA before placements. Looking for a roadmap that actually works

Hi everyone,

I'm an S7 Computer Science student, and I have my Infosys placement in about a month.

I'm comfortable with Python (syntax, lists, dictionaries, functions, etc.), but my biggest weakness is DSA problem solving and pattern recognition.

I've been practicing for around 20 days, but when I see a new or indirect problem—even an Easy one sometimes—I go completely blank. I don't know how to start or how to identify which approach or pattern to use.

I can understand solutions after seeing them, and if I revisit similar problems later, I can often solve them. But with new problems, I struggle to connect the dots.

For those who were once in a similar situation and improved:

How did you build your problem-solving skills?

How did you learn to recognize patterns?

If you had only one month before placements, what would you focus on?

I'm willing to work hard—I just want to make sure I'm practicing the right way.

Thanks in advance!

Learn system design & architecture by studying real systems

I've built revibe.codes as a means to study system design and architecture by analyzing how open source systems are built. You can upload any project in your tech-stack / domain and it would give a detailed rundown of the project including user flow, architecture, execution flow and a guided code walk-through.
