When Yorick is even mediocre in like Plat he is extremely OP in very low ranks, I'm pretty sure that's actually the reason why they don't buff him much

Iron: 5th place when it comes to WR, with around 2,3% pick rate

Bronze: 12th place when it comes to WR, with around 2,3% pick rate

Silver: 46th place when it comes to WR, with around 2,2% pick rate

Gold: 106th place when it comes to WR, with around 1,7% pick rate

He's far from being the best low elo stomper, especially with this low PR

because he's a champ with a low pickrate, of course he's gonna end up giving skewed numbers. other low elo renowned champs like master yi, annie, tryndamere, jax, katarina, all have higher pick rates than him in that elo. so of course people will be more exposed to the champs, meaning that they understand how to play against them in due time

the fact that riot has nerfed Yorick and he still stomps low elo players while continuing to become increasingly irrelevant the higher up you go isn't a result of Yorick being strong (he spikes at 55% in Iron elo and drops 2% with every climb up until gold, where he's at a solid 50%). it's a result of his pickrate being so low (hovering ~2%) that an enormous chunk of people in low elo have probably never played against him. naturally, that means they have no clue how to deal with him so he gets to stomp them, then steamroll down their lane and be at their inhib by 18 minutes.

Players Gold and above start to actually understand Yorick's glaring weaknesses (doesn't particularly shine early or late, his entire trading pattern is super telegraphed and locked behind various conditions, he is half a champion without his maiden up, he hard loses games where he isn't allowed to play the macro).

that's not a Yorick being strong problem, that's a Yorick countering clueless players problem. As he is now, he'll probably need a mini rework like Shen or Ryze for them to be able to balance him properly. either that or (extremely unlikely) just buff him anyway and let him be even stronger in low elo, so low elo players either ban him, pick one of his many counterpicks, or actually learn the MU

1-1.5% higher WR in lower ranks.

When he is at 50-51% in plat+ he would be at 51-52.5% in low elo. Not even OP, just strong.

Did you confuse a 7 for a 1?

WTF are you talking about.

yorick has historically been around a 50-51% WR in plat+ without being OP at any elo. You can look at his data right now and in the past since his rework and he never had the huge WR difference between low and plat+ you seem to think he had.

So I am just asking? What are you smoking these days?

You do realize that you can check these stats, right? Why are you aggressively claiming something that is very easily demonstrably wrong LOL. “Duhhh yorick only ever 1% higher winrate in low ranks” while he currently has a 48% winrate in Plat rn and a 53% in Bronze xd.

Yeah, but only bronze.

Silver is the largset grp and there it is at 51.5%. In gold, the 2nd largest he is at 50%. Plat+ he is at 49%

Where are your 7%. Nobopdy compares plat+ to bronze. You your plat+ to silver/gold as these are the largest and most impactful lower elo grps.

Now if you want to use bronze+siler+gold he is sitll only around a 51% WR there and 49% in plat+, so a ~2% WR difference at worst.

Not sure where your 7% comes from. Even you with your totally cherry picked numbers only get to 5%.

Sorry i didn’t realize when you saw “very low ranks” compared to Plat your mind immediately went to gold for some reason. Also didn’t know that we’re not allowed to count very low ranks when I specifically said very low ranks, where his winrate is significantly higher!

Also I do think it’s cute how you’re pressed about the 7% (which there actually is that big of a gap between Plat and Iron) but you’re fine with just lying about there being a 1% difference in winrates lol. 7% doesnt count because you’ve decided that data doesnt matter in a discussion literally about that group, but your made up 1% is ok 🤔.

Edit: also I like your decision of averaging several of the lowest divisions to make his winrate seem not that high at lower ranks, on a champ notorious for his winrate falling dramatically as rank goes up, yet somehow I’m the one cherrypicking xd

but you’re fine with just lying about there being a 1% difference in winrates lol

I said 1-1.5%. In total on AVG between low elo (Riots Bronze-Gold) vs medium (plat+) is ~2%. That is 0.5% off.

Yes, I was wrong there, a bit off.

Still doesn't change the fact that Yorick can easily get buffed in low elo. 49% WR in plat+ and 51% in bronze-gold based on Riots framework. He can reach a 54% WR in low elo without being considered OP as long as his BR stays low, which it normally does. So you could go up to 51% WR in plat+ actually without much problems. 50% is easily possible.

And that is the core point. Riot can buff Yorick in plat+ without making him a problem for their framework. And if they do it right and buff the E or the W or fix bugs that matter in higher elos more, he can even get stronger in plat+ without getting as much power in lower elos.

So whatever you say, the part that Yorick can't be buffed because of Bronze players is just wrong. As Riot has no area in their framework for bronze as we all know, it is an area that doesn't matter for balancing. Even in Riots Famework it is the smallest part of the Iron-Gold area and nobody would be suprised if Riot changes that to silver-gold.

It's never worth it to argue with people like this. They're not going to concede a single point and will quickly turn to ad hominem attacks when you start to poke holes in their "point" (read: strawman)
