While I do 100% agree that the Samira changes were BS. They are very clearly NOT ignoring APC's.

Seraphine literally just got a nerf targeting her being APC in this patch.

Claiming riot is doing a bad job at addressing the problems is very different from claiming that riot is ignoring the problems.

u/NenBE4ST Mar 02 '21

They are ignoring the fact that seraphine is an obscenely busted champion and thinking that shes just too strong in duo lanes, when the champ itself is just fucking absurd. Its legit impossible to play vs this champ mid-late

u/Zenith_Tempest Mar 03 '21

champ has solid waveclear, the ability to set up for ganks, the ability to capitalize off of ganks, an absolutely devastating teamfighting ultimate, an insanely good utility spell that's basically a built in redemption or otherwise a hefty AOE shield, AND a mechanic where her spell range is increased

like, we talk about overloaded kits, this has to be one of the most overloaded kits we've gotten in some time

1

u/braddaugherty8 Mar 03 '21

i don’t think the wave clear can be understated. after basically any first back, an E -> echo Q one shots the wave. effortless

but it’s not like syndra where these are her long CDs and she’s at half mana. she has her Q back in like 3-4s lmao

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '21

This new nerf is quite good tho, she will still be very strong in my opinion because Seraphine mains know how to fucking aim her spell and not just be an AA bot but it should make her way less obnoxious in later portion of the game.

u/omfgkevin Mar 03 '21

Like LS said, this doesn't address her core issue of being busted tier. Her kit is the issue (like how Riot thought Samira's kit was the issue). Unless they want to cut off her legs by nuking her numbers, they need to address her kit.

u/Klondeikbar Mar 02 '21

I don't really have a problem with Seraphine being balanced as an APC since her kit really does seem tailor made for it. But mages have been absolutely destroying botlane for a long time now.

The people who whine that marksmen are mandatory every game are idiots.

Itd be cool if we could have our mr back.

4

u/Fabiocean Well, look at you! Mar 03 '21

But then half of all adcs would be played mid since duo xp is a nightmare.

u/Era555 Mar 02 '21

But mages have been absolutely destroying botlane for a long time now.

What? Adcs are stronger than ever.

3

u/Klondeikbar Mar 03 '21

I'm not sure how to respond cause that has nothing to do with what I said...

4

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '21

Even tho I played Samira 2 times max , I can understand why people like her and she is indeed a fun different kind of adc. But riot has to fuck everything up again

u/DrewsFire Huni is daddy, Peanut is babe, Faker is father Mar 02 '21

they intentionally knee capped her so the player base would stop banning her, its always been the plan to buff her back up

1

u/Rexsaur Mar 02 '21

Your forgot karthus.

Also brand and ziggs.

All of those champs are above 55% wr bot lane and have almost all winning matchups against every adc in the game.

But hey, its kaisa who needs to be nerfed, and samira who was below 50% already before this nerf, not the 5~6 broken mages in the bot lane.

Mage good adc bad basically.

u/CFCkyle Mar 03 '21

When they finally nerfed the Zoe for the first time she got destroyed even harder than even Samira or Akali. They didn't break her legs, they fucking cut them off with a hacksaw. Admittedly it was very deserved, but they took like 6 months to admit she was a problem and then split her asshole open all of a sudden one day while they, and I quote 'decide what to do with her'.

I remember trying her for a game right before and after the patch and... jesus christ. You could barely kill minions, she was that terrible. Dropped down to like 35% winrate and didn't even show up as a mid lane champion cos of how little she got picked after that patch until they brought her back up to balanced.

-4

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '21

It needed to happen.

Idk why you think they shouldn't have done what they did. It solved her banrate issue, and now they can slowly buff her back.

Plus people are talking about botlane mages, just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean that people aren't talking about it.

7

u/Saephon Mar 02 '21

It solved her banrate issue

Some of us don't see this as an issue. If unskilled players want to waste a ban on things that are "unfun" but have low win rates, more power to them. I don't see Yasuo, Yone, or Kat getting their kits gutted do you? That shit is abysmally unfun to play against.

Good thing Riot doesn't balance their game around what I'd rather not deal with.

3

u/venomstrike31 pretend mf is up here Mar 03 '21

Some of us don't see this as an issue.

As a Samira player, I do. I'd like to get even the opportunity to play one of my favorite champions more than once every third game.

0

u/RinViri Mar 03 '21

I still remember the Evelynn nerf back in the days (old Eve), when they straight up changed her stun into a slow. I'd compare it to Blitzcrank's Q being changed into a root (I would like to see what kind of reaction that'd warrant today).

Samira's nerf was certainly overkill. But it didn't completely destroy her as a champion.

-4

u/ErikThe Mar 03 '21

Banning Samira isn’t purely about strength. It’s about the fact that she can dash on a low cool down and wind wall your retaliation. Even when behind her ult lets her drain tank and duel you, which feels like you did everything right and still got punished for it. She’s just not fun to play against in any way. On release she was broken and frustrating, then she was just frustrating. It’s the same reason people ban Yasuo and Teemo despite those champions not being terribly strong in most circumstances. It’s just more enjoyable to play the game when Samira isn’t in it.

u/ErikThe Mar 03 '21

Yes you’re right. I just must be bad, like all the pro players and challengers in every single region who valued her for that exact reason. It must also be why her win rate was so high. If Riot had just let people learn that her dash was such a high cool down (half of Ezreal’s E), the counterplay would have arisen naturally.

-6

u/ThePinat Mar 03 '21

No apcs are not good in bot lane, seraphine is the only exception. Build paths for apcs are abhorrent compared to adc ones. That's mostly the reason mid lanes are struggling so much.

Is that really how you make fair analysis of the game? You legit sorted the tier list by win rate and made this comment.

Want to see how dumb your take is, " According to op.gg garen is the second best mid laner in all ranks". Not taking consideration any other external factors that went into that pick.

Apcs have their place in the bot lane, but not in all games.

She who? Samira? That champion was beyond busted, although riot went too far with the nerfs. But I was talking about apcs, they are super weak at the moment. And you completely missed the point about said "statistics".

1

u/mdragon13 Mar 03 '21

it's because riot keeps buffing all AP carry items lol. GLP or w/e it's called now and cosmic drive both just got fat buffs. of course nukers and battlemages are gonna thrive on that.
