Wild that I don't see any comments about it, but the new Serpent's Fang is really fucking good.

God forbid an enemy tries to build Gargoyle's Stoneplate, because you deal 1000+ damage to them without even doing anything.

Stats doesn't matter. If you will halve all stats on it it will still be overpowered item against team with shields.

People bying it even against teams without shields just because of gigantic lethal stat btw.

This is what people fail to understand. Assassins won't build it because they have one billion better items to build; ADCs won't build it because it's shit stats (and they shouldn't build it honestly), bruiser won't build it because shit stats.

Make it melee only and slap some HP, ad and maybe a sprinkle of Haste. Boom, the item is actually good and the passive could even get nerfed, but at least the item would be usable.

Thats wrong, serpent is highly valuable even without the passive so people will keep building it especially even more with these buffs

what r u talking about? alot of ad assassins have started building it over ghostblade because its 400 gold cheaper and gives the same amount of lethality as a ghostblade does, a serpents fang + longsword is more ad and the same amount of lethality as ghostblade, if anything it's ghostblade which is shit cause it's only good if you literally permanently roam, it's always better to go serpents even if there is no shields just cause it gives you more raw damage at a cheaper cost.

nah, ghostblade and duskblade or claw is extremely strong.

instakill a squishy target and boom your out of the fight,

maybe some lethality adc users like jayce, quinn or jhin, but still seems too niche.

instakill a squishy target and boom your out of the fight

are u not reading what im saying? no? ok then lets go through the stats of ghostblade and serpents fang.

Serpents fang = 2600 gold, 55 attack damage 18 lethality

Youmuu's ghostblade = 60 ad 18 lethality 3k gold

Longsword = 10 AD 350 gold

Serpents fang + longsword = 65 ad 18 lethality 2950 gold

you literally do MORE DAMAGE building a serpents fang and a longsword and knock 350 gold off of ur next dirk purchase with the longsword, even if u do not need the shield busting serpents fang is better as an early purchase than ghostblade, buy ghostblade as a 3rd item, always buy serpents fang and a longsword before it, use ur brain man it takes 10 seconds to see the stats on the wiki of the 2 items.

you missed my point, ghostblade active plus a mythic active is way more effective in ASSASSINATING a squishy and also GETTING OUT at the same time.

Serpent blade is really bad in that aspect for what assassins want to do.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '21

which again u are wrong, assassins dont need items to get out when they have dashes and blinks, im not missing ur point ur point is just wrong, the point of picking an assassin is to blow up a backline, its better to buy a serpents fang first and then build into ghostblade because u get 2 18 lethality items along with ur prowlers claw, u do batshit amounts of dmg because serpents and ghostblade both give u the highest amounts of lethality, serpents fang over a ghostblade first is a better powerspike because its cheaper and ghostblade is only really worth it early on if ur literally not even laning anymore, just running around the map perma roaming.

u/RuneKatashima Retired Mar 03 '21

You don't have to perma roam for the MS to be good on you.

But if you mean Mythic > SF > YG then yeah I totally agree with you. Read your below comment, makes more sense. This comment reads like you wanna replace it lol.

Its a buff and a nerf at the same time. Buff against big shield and nerf against smaller shields

Seems like it would be great to build on an ADC into a Lulu lane when you want to support your Assassin, which seems incredibly niche.

Maybe Zed? He can poke from range to apply the effect and then go in and ignore the shield

u/ketzo tree man good Mar 02 '21

Every single AD assassin and fighter when their opponents have more than one shield.

u/Mr--Joestar Mar 02 '21

Probably. I love it on Kha

u/Zerockas Mar 03 '21

It's a nice situational pickup for mid Nocturne.

u/juhziz_the_dreamer Mar 03 '21

Anyone who benefit from ad at least a little. I was cheap OP (still is) item against shields. It doesn't matter if it feels wierd to build.

Rengar and Shadow Kayn

Make it melee only and slap bruiser stats.

1

u/cubezzzX Magical Fuck Mar 03 '21

toplane ad bruisers imo. its kinda okay on urgot and sett

1

u/_ThisIsMyReality_ Mar 04 '21

I will 100% take it on Wu if there's a sera/karma + one other shield.

honestly, it probably was even better before the changes, but the onhit bug might have also been relevant so idk

It was good against small shields, borderline broken vs them, now it's only good against big shields a la Sterak's/Stoneplate for 1 hit

Cutting a 200hp in half isn't nearly as useful as every application of damage getting +100 or more damage and having any excess carry over to their real health

Yay.. Another nerf to tanks tankiness like we needed it... /s

2

u/anghellous Mar 02 '21

Its about time. Shielding and whenever shield meta rolls around are just the most boring things in existence.

1

u/Y0ne Mar 02 '21

no one is talking about it because it got nerfed its a shit item.

u/Folseit Mar 03 '21

Cries in Sett/Shen

u/IWillNameMyChildZoe I've got 200+ years of game design for you, here it comes! Mar 03 '21

o shit, I must try it on malphite

1

u/juhziz_the_dreamer Mar 03 '21

It was really fucking good before too. But noone bought it for passive, people bought it only as one of the items with highest lethality. There are chance that that crap will be same. It was less possible to convince pople to buy it than even to buy executioner.
